quote:I agree 100%, and this is what I've been saying since it happened. I don't care that he hit Murray. Murray was trying to make a tackle and Dial was trying to prevent that. However, it all went south when the helmet to helmet contact was established. I don't see how anyone could even deny that it took place. It was obvious.
That's the only issue. There was the typical rantard overreaction about how just hitting Murray in that case was dirty. There was nothing wrong with hitting Murray in that case.

First off Murray should have ran faster to assist in the tackle or get out of the way
My point was Murray was not trying to make a play. Dial targeted him. It was a dirty play, but believe what you want.

You don't think he should be flagged? It was helmet to helmet you dumbass.
It was a penalty because he did lead with his head under his chin.
You blind or stupid?

This. Jesus everyone. It was a missed 15 yard penalty that would have had little effect on the game. It was not a damn conspiracy and no one is going to be suspended. If Murray did not want to be blocked he should have stayed away from the return man.
A couple things.
The biggest issue with it being missed is there was a ref no more than 10 feet from the hit and he was facing both of them. It was a gross missed call. If the PF against McCarron earlier was flagged, this should have gotten a flag from every ref in the vicinity. Also, that 15 yards may have changed bama's play calling and maybe they don't score before the half if they have that extra 15 tacked on.
I agree that a suspension is not warranted. A personal foul flag should have been thrown.
As for Murray staying away, what do you want him to do, sprint the other way? He was basically looking at the play and walking toward the return man already being tackled. It was a dirty arse hit and should have been flagged, but to say Murray should have stayed away and that's why the hit occurred is ridiculous.

It was the shoulder, Murray is just short. But that doesn't mean he still shouldn't be suspended.

How? I saw in the game thread where McCarron got hit by a helmet and everyone was calling it a bullshite call. Which is it?

I kid, but it should have been a penalty. Period.
No it should have not. The QB was gogging to the player who intercepted the ball. First mistake. The QB put himself in that position. Second mistake. Dial hit him with his shoulder and that is legal.

They have to suspend him, it not debatable. And if they don't, the SEC are even bigger hypocrites than previously believed, because they suspended trae elston earlier in the year.
Then they will also have to suspend the Georgia player who got the helmet to helmet penalty for hitting McCarron.
It should have been a penalty, but not a suspension

Or maybe it forces Saban to actually call his timeouts and they score a TD.

should be suspended ... if this garnered a suspension

Possibly, but to act as if it had no impact on the game is ignorant.

True. Bama would have won by more.

I'm just still mad over them suspending elston. It was so much bullshite. And if they're gonna pull that shite on us than the rest of the league should have to be under the same standards. Even golden boy Bama.

GD you're retarded. It was a helmet to helmet hit. That's illegal. What part of that do you not understand?

Shoulder hits are legal and the QB put himself in the cross hairs. He will not get a suspension. Not going to happen. Murray should have put on his big boy pants.

Why are most of you Alabama fans so fricking dense? Did you miss the OBVIOUS HELMET TO HELMET CONTACT?
