This is one of those things where we can easily tell the dumb bama fans and the slightly less dumb fans based on their response.

it's obvious, the 1st thing that hit was his shoulder

Just because the shoulder is the first part of his body to touch Murray does not mean he did not lead with his helmet. The hit was as illegal as they come.

QBs walking around without a clue they can be hit if they attempt to stop the player who just intercepted the Football.

Does the helmet to helmet rule still apply in that situation?

He didn't lead with his head, so...

I don't think he should've been flagged, but it was definitely one dirty arse play.

Murray was about 20 feet away from the ball carrier for Bama and he was moving to him. He got blocked. Dial led with his shoulder.

As a Bama fan, that hit on Murray was uncalled for. Although the shoulder did hit first, it was still a helmet to helmet hit.

It was hardly an attempt.

The SEC commissioner is going to suspend an SEC player for a game against Noter Dame for the National fricking Championship.

You're right.

But the overall governing body could also suspend him

Looks like a personal foul to me. Intentionally went H2H.

HOLY shite.

I've never witnessed so many fricking retards that are scared to admit that it was a dirty, illegal and unnecessary hit. He lead with his fricking head and there should have been a flag. Period.

Everybody outside of the Alabama fanbase knows this.

It's probably not a suspension because Murray was seriously a potential tackler there. He was participating in the play-- in a half-assed way. If you're gonna jog over to the interceptor after you throw a pick, you need to realize you're actually still in the play. He wasn't a passer anymore- he was kinda sorta playing weak defense.

Should have been 15 yards for personal foul, though.

This. Jesus everyone. It was a missed 15 yard penalty that would have had little effect on the game. It was not a damn conspiracy and no one is going to be suspended. If Murray did not want to be blocked he should have stayed away from the return man. Every QB knows this.

When does helmet to helmet not apply? It doesn't matter if the shoulder hit first. He squarely put his helmet under his chin which is illegal in most circumstances. I don't see why it wouldn't be here.

Why was Murray not aware of his surroundings? If you engage to stop the player who intercepted your pass you had better see who is about to level you. Stop crying for a QB who did not have field awareness.
