Personally I didn't think it was that bad but I surely don't think that it was helpful in moving on besides the fact that it seemed to make us own our past instead from hiding from it...

I thought so much more could have been said about the '62 team as well as the progress made since then to now at the University, I know it was slighty touched upon but still it seemed like most of the air time reflected on the Riots and bigiotory ... slightly mentioning though how most of the people that was their fighting weren't even Ole Miss people ...

I just don't know how I feel about it at the moment but I do know that so much more could have been said to paint a positive light on us that wasn't i.e. Students chasing the KKK off campus ... I should know I was there

Has there ever been a movement to rename Ross Barnett lake?

There was a movement to rename it to the Medgar Evers reservoir, something which I would support. Medgar Evers was most likely not a festering sack of dogshit like that Barnett was.

Maybe this will spark the movement again.

He implied Texas does not have that issue. I have seen from personal experience that they do

Every State does. The perputuated myth that racism only exists in the south really pisses me off. Hell, keeping with your Mexican reference, my first real experience with it was from a tool bag from Massachusetts afraid of all the Mexicans in San Antonio in the middle of Fiesta.

People from up north have no moral high ground over the south on the issue!
