You keep on repeating weak claims that have already been discredited. You "forgot" to address our rankings over the past 3,7, and 10 years, the O and D roster weakness' richt left for this team, and the weak schedule of 2015.

2015 had become the norm.

I'm still shocked when Uga fans say they wanted to keep Richt. His 10 win seasons were mostly meaningless because we didn't beat anyone that good nor did we win anything. He was paid millions of dollars and could not get his team motivated for big games. I'm honestly surprised he lasted at long as he did.

Some Uga fans like halgren had an odd emo attachment to richt, and it led to them ignoring the warts that had developed on richts program.

It's a moot point now, but the SEC title game vs Alabama in 12 could have gone either way, and if UGA had won, they'd probably have pounded Notre Dame too.

I think you're right. However, Richt doesn't get teams prepared like Saban does. Who knows how it would have gone.

Nope. I keep refuting your weak claims that the 2016 team is peformng better than during Richt's tenure taken in it's entirety, or the last 5 years if you prefer recent history. He won 10 a year, against a comparable schedule to 2016, using comparable talent to what Kirby Smart and company have right now. If it pleases you to deny all that, so that you can potentially downplay Kirby's failures this year, that's fine, but I don't care to do that.

I'd rather call it as a I see it on the field without searching for excuses, especially when there's no obvious reason for excuses. I'd also like to see a coach who demonstrates improvement over the man we fired. So far, I don't see it, which is what this thread was asking. Tomorrow is another day and I'll change my opinion if given a reason to do so.

This is true. I can understand all my UGA friends having been frustrated.

I hope you guys win the East.

We were trailing to a ranked team by double digits in the second half and we won. Would that have happened with Richt? There's an improvement right there.

I would rather have this team that fights tooth and nail to win games then the Richt team that came out looking like they would rather be at the beach. And that fight comes from Kirby. I know the team looks like shite but maybe just maybe they will find a way to fight their way out of a loss every game we play this year. Kirby had made the right choice to play Eason also, he needs the experience and its not like getting sacked, picked or loosing is gonna hurt him The kid is cool hand luke out there.

In the 2014 opener, we were tied at halftime with Clemson , and then blew them out 24-0 in the 2nd half. They went on to win 10 games. We won 10 games that year also, and never had any close calls to weak opponents like Nicholls State. If I though North Carolina was as good as last year, I'd give that game more weight, but I don't.

We can play the anecdotes game forever; it doesn't mean anything. I don't care as much about how the points are arranged and don't think it means much because a half game is a very small sample. I'm basing my judgement on all the plays in all the games we've seen so far this year, which is also a small sample, but it's not impressive so far and not an improvement IMO.

This is the disconnect for me. This is the worst UGA's talent level has been in a while. We don't have any good seniors.

I never made such a point. I guess your poor reading comprehension is another issue here. I made a bunch of other points that just may have gone over your head though.

We don't have many top seniors, but we never do have many. Our best players tend to leave as juniors, or even RS sophomores. Gotta coach 'em up quick these days and don't redshirt unless they're physically unable to contribute. Get a big lead against the cupcakes and start getting the freshmen on the field early, which is another reason not to let FCS teams hang around until the bitter end.

Bingo! Outside of a handful of juniors, most of Georgia's legit talent is really young.

A team that has little depth in the trenches may win a lot of games, but they aren't going to be legit contenders for a title. That's the point Georgia was at the last few years.

Here are some points that have been made already:

1. Quit bragging about 2002-2005. Uga had become a 9-4 program since 06, and struggled to finish top 25 annually.

2. It's not similar. 2015 was our easiest schedule since the Ray Goff days. We may never again have a schedule that easy. Give the 2015 team a regular schedule, and ten wins doesn't happen.

3. It's not similar. We have no quality big wr's, we don't have 5 quality OL, we don't have a kicker, we start a freshman qb, we lack experience in the front 7, and talent in the secondary.

UGA under Richt was an extremely undisciplined team. Smart has already made a lot of improvement in that area. Stupid penalties and excessive celebrations are no longer happening.

Although Smart is "old school", he isn't afraid to go with a true freshman QB that gives UGA the best chance of winning.

Not much is expected this year due to a lack of senior leadership. There were 33 recruits in our 2013 class and that class was close to a complete bust.

Georgia is the place for great recruits who want to play early.

In 6 of the last 10 seasons we lost atleast one of the first three games. This season has started off better than most of them lately
