They certainly have the time to drop by these days.

SEC Championship game was a slog for about 10 minutes you say?

Just like the 60 minutes in the B1G championship game.

Exactly the same.

I'll be completely honest with you.

As I sat watching the games with my,didn't know what a 1st and ten meant to start the year (I'm serious) girlfriend, she asked a question.

You see, we had just finished watching Bama-UGA and we'd watched a bunch of SEC games all season long and then the ACC/B1G Championship games came on. We were watching and as we get into the second quarter she asks me.....dead serious.

The question....."Why do these games look so slow and unexciting?"

Direct quote.

I laughed and said they are slower than the SEC players and they run antiquated offenses from the 1980's. We laughed and joked about the run-run-pass-punt games for a few minutes and changed the channel to a movie.

True story.

Point is, even an amateur can see yall are slow and have a high school offense.

So I saw a draft analysis guy do a thing on Michigan's qb earlier this week.

He talked about the big question concerning him.

Michigan runs a really simple basic offense he said so nobody knows if he can progress beyond one read or actually read a defense since Harbaugh doesn't ask him to do that at all.

It's just basic offense with one read.

Good luck doing that vs Saban and Bama.

Near impossible to put Georgia in and leave Texas, Washington, FSU or Washington out. Obviously Alabama would be in since they beat the #1 team and was a conference champion, but no way you could put Georgia in and leave two of the others out.

We lost a game at the wrong time. It is what it is. I do think Georgia was one of the 4 best teams, but UGA lost at a bad time.

I actually agree with this. Bama played good but was far from great.

But was it a fluke that that was the case? There are too many examples of Alabama playing their bor C game to think thta maybe they were playing at their potential.

Auburn?
Arkansas?
Texas A&M?
South Florida?

All were 2-3 TDs closer than they should have been.

Then other closer games that makes one wonder are:
Ole Miss?

Almost half of Alabama games were much closer than they should have been. All teams have them, but 6 games makes you stop and wonder.

If you want to talk about a blowout...consider:

A 4th down missed catch called a catch
A penalty that moved a FG back then missed
A fumble on the 11 yard line that cost Georgia.

Turn those around and the score could easily have been 27-17 Georgia....a double digit loss for Alabama.

Too many times do fans of teams state things as if they were a given and they were definitely not a given. Georgia had a much better chance of blowing Alabama out than the other way around.
