Well, I'm not so sure that's a bad thing for State. Gave up more big plays than any defense I can remember... even more than Ron Cooper.
Doesn't matter if redzone is tough if the other team can score at will from mid field.
Defense didn't make plays when they had to against Bama, and completely failed to show up against OM.
Here's OM's touchdowns in the Egg Bowl:
2 plays 47 yards TD
4 plays 84 yards TD
1 play 91 yards TD
2 plays 72 yards TD

9 Plays 294 yards 4 TDs!!
That's a fireable offense in my book.

Durkin is more than likely going to UNC. He recruits well in that area. But Muschamp ran that defense at UF.

I think it is a question of how much of the defense was really Durkin. I really like him and wish there was a way he could stay, but I take it Mac doesn't trust him to run the defense on his own.
It will be interesting to see how this effects T-Rob. Based on some other names being floated around, this could be one hell of a recruiting staff.
