He would be an incredible hire if y'all do somehow get him. He's an elite recruiter, knows the area and no one has doubted his coordinator credentials. I would absolutely be scared if he came to Starkville, but luckily that is just not going to happen.

He would be stupid not to. He is a dying name in coaching and would be getting the opportunity to step into a farm position. Guys running the defense at State and jumping to major programs is a trend. He gets to learn under a hot coach in CFB and take another spin at HC in a few years. Or he can sit at home for a few years.

Is this really an upgrade over say retaining Durkin? Or just the price of clearing out the Muschamp issues?
