Every board I have read is beyond elated that the upside to this will be the end of the 1b defense.

I wonder if Muffin and Collins had a falling out at the end of the season.

Collins wasn't a great DC; he was a good recruiter. We can do better.

Interesting. Maybe Turner will do it for that game.

Not surprising. He was at Alabama during the same time McElwain was there.

Considering the offense we are facing, that kinda sucks.

Yeah...you're not getting Ed Orgeron. He wants a HC job, not the DC job at State.

Since he's not even a candidate for any head coaching job anywhere at anytime, I think you're pretty stupid.

Well...we have the rest of the staff intact. It will just be an interim DC. If we lose the game, it won't be because of Collins leaving.

Yeah it's not a complex scheme, they just need to keep the players disciplined.

Probably wont help our focus in a game where thats pretty much everything, but I mostly agree.

He was in an "off the field" capacity at Alabama in 2007 and 2008 before going to UCF and then State. McElwain came to Alabama in 2008. So there was familiarity.

McElwain was hired Feb 1st, 2008
Collins went to UCF Feb 25th, 2008

I guess they're familiar with each other for a whole 3 weeks?
