would you rather have the 55 year old brain surgeon who graduated from UAB but has been in the field for a while... or the Johns Hopkins grad cutting for the first time?...

If we are putting together a team, why not stick them both on there?

obviously not, but would you say Chris fowler knows more about CFB than nick saban?

it easy to discredit the argument when you use shitty examples as a retort. again, no one is saying some random person belongs over her because they played football. they are saying she isnt qualified simply because she hasnt played/coached. its the easiest argument to make to discredit. because its the first one.

I am going by what Dye said, that you had to have gotten your hands dirty. He was the one that said it. Ricky Williams got his hands dirty. Chris Fowler has not. Ergo in Dye's world Ricky Williams would be a better committee member than Chris Fowler.

no I am not. I am comparing expertise and knowledge on the game. that is the question I asked.

quote:

You are assuming that the qualities that make someone a good coach are the same qualities that make someone a good committee member

I am assuming coaching has a direct correlation with knowledge and grasp of the matter at hand. determining who the best team is.

You are assuming she is a better applicant simply because she is smart. So with this same logic someone with a high IQ is qualified for every position available. do you not see the failure in that assumption

i agree and have no problem with rice being on the committee... she'd likely add more than most members and be able to broker a deal better than the non-politicians.

i was just pointing out jed's definitive statement isn't necessarily true.

Did Dye say any person was qualified simply because they played and coached?

Just pointing out the fallacies of your retort. sorry for the obvious.

You are saying simply because she is intelligent she is the ideal candidate. So she is more qualified than an intelligent individual that also holds experience in the field?

I think Condi is fine on the committee , as a unifier , but for you to call someone a racist or sexist because they feel everyone should have “ inside football knowledge ” makes you a dumbazz.

And yes , the spread has been around for years , it was born of Homer Smith who coached under Stallings at Bama ( CGS wouldn't let him use it )

Houston had the run&shoot.

The reasons the offenses are great now isn't x and os , its because no holding is called and DBs get called for breating to hard.

YOUNG DUMMIES WILL BECOME OLD DUMMIES.

I actually didn't assume anything. You are chasing ghosts. I was replying to your assumption that because Saban is a good coach, he makes great decisions about everything football. His personnel decisions with the Dolphins and his coaching recs belie that assumption.

I have to agree that I don't see that she has any credentials to be on the committee.

I lol at all of the republicans who support her choice for the committee because she is a republican.

This committee will hurt the SEC because there will now be more pressure to get the correct teams using politics instead of getting the best 4.
