Auburn doesn't have a #1 draft pick at QB or a Nick Fairley this year. Nick Marshall is above average at best (which really he doesn't need to be better in Gus's easy system) and SCAR is always loaded on the defensive side.

I can see justification in that South Carolina prediction.

Sounds about right to me. Although I had Bama and Mississippi State.

Yea no way we make it to a NC game without these two guys...

How do you know we don't have a Fairley btw? He came out of nowhere.

Pretty much agree with him except I think we will go 11-1.

Bama hardly ever beats us in Tuscaloosa so not too concerned about that one.

Let's just go ahead and pencil the Iron Bowl as a win for AU now. Now that that's out of the way, y'all can focus all y'all's attention on Samford. Should be a battle this year

If USCe couldn't beat Auburn with Chizik in 3 tries and all ranked teams, then I don't like their chances against Gus.

SC can definitely win that game. Ward is a very good defensive coordinator and Carolinas offense should be very good. May be a track meet where first one to 40 wins. All Wards D may need is a couple of stops. I would add though that having a bye week before gives Auburn an extra advantage. I'd say 60/40 Auburn without the bye this game is 50/50.

Not saying bama doesn't have a chance if we play extremely poorly and have a lot of turnovers, but otherwise, yeah bama is penciled in as a W.

Your opinion of him is about to change dramatically.

BTW, you're right...Auburn doesn't have Cam Newton or Nick Fairley anymore. However, what we do have in 2014 is a better offensive line, deeper stable of running backs, much better wide receivers, much more talent on the defensive line, equal linebackers, and a more talented secondary. We also have a better head coach and a better defensive coordinator.

Pretty much sums it up.

Auburn will go 8-4 this year with losses to LSU, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Alabama.

To elaborate...

- Shon Coleman, Alex Kozan, Reese Dismukes, Chad Slade and Avery Young > Lee Ziemba, Mike Berry, Ryan Pugh, Byron Isom and Brandon Moseley

- Cam Artis-Payne, Peyton Barber, Corey Grant, Racean Thomas and Kamryn Pettway > Mike Dyer, Onterio McCalebb and Mario Fannin

- Sammie Coates, Duke Williams, RiCardo Louis, CJ Uzomah, Marcus Davis, Quan Bray, Tony Stevens and Melvin Ray > Darvin Adams, Terrell Zachery, Kodi Burns, Emory Blake, Trovon Reed and Travante Stallworth (this one isn't even close)

- John Mincy, Jonathan Jones, Josh Holsey, Derrick Moncrief, Jermaine Whitehead, Brandon King and Robenson Therezie > Demond Washington, Neiko Thorpe (fricking scrub), Zac Etheridge, Mike McNeil, Aairon Savage and T'Sharvan Bell

- Carl Lawson, DeVonte Lambert, Elijah Daniels, Monty Adams, Gabe Wright, Angelo Blackson, Ben Bradley, LaDarius Owens and Jeff Whitaker > Nick Fairley, Zach Clayton, Nosa Equae, Antoine Carter, Corey Lemonier, Jeff Whitaker, Ken Carter, and Craig Sanders (Nick Fairley was dominant, but 2 of the other starters were "meh" and the depth consisted of true freshmen)

The 2010 Auburn team had two very dominant players that were unstoppable, but the 2014 Auburn team has much more talent from top to bottom, IMO. We will see how it shakes out.

The state of Alabama will implode from the massive meltdowns on each side of the state after both teams go 8-4,

War Tide.
