They are better trained and conditioned than college players
Oh really? Well... I'll be danged.

The whole point of strength and conditioning training is to improve athletic performance and endurance. I honestly have no clue how you arrived at the conclusion that NFL players must be more tired/fatigued than college players.
Is that right?
So what you're saying is that if the programs playing against the HUNH would just be in better condition, they'd suffer less injuries?
Well... I'll be doggone. Sounds familiar.

But again, like I stated, we as auburn fans have been told this type of offense fatigues our d more than a d like bama. So I am having trouble following the logic presented here as it has changed to fit yalls arguments
My argument has never shifted on this. I really couldn't care less about the issue itself and was only responding to TT's obnoxious and narcissistic tone where he incorrectly asserted his stats put this issue to bed when in reality they do not. I see this issue seems to be of paramount importance to Auburn fans. I think you should all get together and work on gathering the relevant stats that have been requested on this thread and report back to the board by the end of the week. Hurry up now!

I don't see Auburn's coach pushing for a rule change. So I am not too sure which fan base thinks this issue is more important. I have a good idea who it is, though.

If a player is fatigued or could get fatigued, don't put him in, put in a fresh guy. simple solution and no rule change is needed. But that will never happen because player safety is not the concern, its really about being able to sub in certain packages of players every down
I trust Saban to adjust to this - he will cross-train more of his defensive players - he will have Cochran pump up the volume on conditioning - he will work and over work his defensive players and expose them to way more than they've had to absorb in the past. We will see a more versatile defensive player on Bama's defense. Because we will have 3-4 SEC teams playing the HUNH/fast-paced offense now.
What will be really interesting to see is how will the HUNH - fast paced teams train and conition their own defense, and will they have the stamina to maintain the intensity if and when their own offense has multiple 3 & outs?

I would say that it appears like a plausible thing that more injuries would occur when there are 20 or so more plays run
Statistically that makes logical sense to me.
Know what else makes logical sense to me? The greater chance of injury of the smaller, lighter, less well conditioned players of, say, Georgia State or Chattanooga playing the huge well conditioned players of the University of Alabama.
Why isn't Saban concerned about the safety of the Georgia State and Chattanooga players?

Mark Twain said there's lies. damn lies. then theres stats!

Horrible thread.
Dig me up a game by game analysis compiling injuries and comparing them against HUNH vs fast paced teams. Fast vs medium. Fast vs Slow.
Then factor in weather and break it into games played above 80degrees, 60-79 degrees, 45-59 degrees, and under 44 degrees.
Also segregate the data by geographic location of the teams and get us some practice information regarding the speed of practices, the days teams practice hard vs. soft, and any info on pre-existing conditions as well.
until you have that, you have dog shite for this argument.

While everyone knows BRet and NIck are just looking for a defensive advantage to this HUNH BS...the info in the link is far from conclusive. It doesnt take into account when the injuries that caused lost starts occurred. They could have happened during practice for all we konw.

Question? Has Nick proposed any specific rule changes?

Because he isn't concerned about any players' safety as it pertains to this particular issues? We have rehashed this over and over here but it seems that only the AU posters are having a real problem understanding that no one on this thread, to my knowledge, has stated that Saban really has player safety in mind on this issue.
Parkjas, above, seems to get it.
