Fumble

Nope, illegal forward pass

Fumble without regard to where the ball is when it comes out.
Because of where the ball is when it starts to come out, or appears to come out, makes me question. If the ref was right there and called it a fumble, I would not have indisputable video evidence based on that GIF clip.

How is this still even going on? Having the tiny tip of your finger on the ball still doesn't matter, you have to have possession. Touching the ball with your fingertip isn't possession. He didn't possess the ball as it was crossing the line, it is undoubtedly a fumble and even the UT fans are saying so.

It's not a fumble. Bad angle here, but the right side of the ball carrier's body had broken the plane of the sideline prior to losing control of the ball, meaning he was out of bounds and down before losing control.
What the frick did you just say?

But based on the clip provided in the OP, I can't see when the player loses possession, so the call on the field, whatever it was, would stand.

oh, my.
So if your body is out(not sure how that happens) but your feet are in, you are out?
It was a fumble, and it was correctly called.

Its the part where he loses it out of his grip, then it passes through the endzone. What do you need to see?

It is a fumble. Helped Auburn in 2010 IB, but that ball went 30 yards

Look at this and tell me where the tip of the ball is when he loses his grip on the ball.

He fumbled a full yard before the goal line, simply touching the ball with your fingertip is not possession.
Anyone who thinks overwise has never watched a football game in their life.

So, you are saying that he lost possession when he let go with his right hand and extended the ball with his left? To you, that's a fumble?

The ref called it a TD. Whether or not there was indisputable evidence to overturn that call of TD is the only real point of debate. Of course, I'm not even sure he's not out of bounds before the fumble/TD. The weird part of the call is that it doesn't get ruled a fumble but a touchback. A fumble out of bounds at the 2 yard line would've been better for us. It's an odd call based on an odd rule.
It's simply an academic exercise on moot point now.

Lol @ fumbling a full yard before the goaline.

I don't think it is a fumble. At first glance, it looks OBVIOUSLY like a fumble, but some of that might be an illusion due to when he takes his right hand off the ball. It looks like he loses the ball at that point, but, when you look more closely, you can see the ball is still in his left hand. The big question is this...Does the ball come out of his left hand before or after it begins to cross the front of the white line? I don't know.

Still has possession and the ball crossed the plane. Touchdown.
ETA: Woops. Wrong GIF.

Vols really still do own UGA's head after all these years huh? They beat a 6 at most win UT team in OT with a FG and they're still jerking off.
ETA: looks like a fumble to me

When I first saw the replay I thought there was no doubt he fumbled prior to breaking the plane. Now I'm not so sure. If it has to be indisputable evidence they got it wrong IMO.

I stand almost corrected.

That's exactly what I saw too.
Right here:
He loses it right after he flicks his hand, after the ball crossed the plane. Either way, if the ref called a TD, that should have stood. WTF??? Gonna have to start the R.D.C. (Red Dawg Conspiracy).
