They aren't going to.

The reality is the person suing does have a case and liability will be found. The issue is 100% of the liability will land on Chandler Lecroy, who was driving the vehicle against UGA policy, and was drunk and was already to be found to be the sole person responsible for the wreck that cost her life, the life of Devin Willock and caused the injuries to the staffer in question.

The issue is her estate has no money to take. So while the staffer is hoping to get some part of the liability assigned to UGA, it is very unlikely to happen.

That's where others are getting confused by this. It's not that a wrong wasn't committed. It absolutely was. It's about who is the one at fault. And it's not Jalen Carter or UGA in any way. It's the drunk driver of the vehicle that got in a single car accident who did not have permission to drive the vehicle she crashed. In fact, UGA has the right to sue her estate for the damage done to the vehicle as well if they wanted (they won't because there's no money to collect).

I'd say enough people got terminated due to this behavior and it's clear that UGA is not prepared to accept the fundamental issues that are going on in that program.

And just to be clear... that fundamental issue is...

speeding?

That's part of it, genius.

To paraphrase tRant: Kirby Smart has lost control of UGA football.

Maybe you failed to read the article? She was on leave with no pay. They tried to get her to cooperate with the investigation and she refused.

And you didn't read the second part of my comment. What the hell is the harm of keeping her employed even though she is not cooperating. She gets paid peanuts. She can't do any work under the name of Georgia since she is on leave. All she would be able to do is cash a check. Why the hell not take the hit of basically a minimum wage paycheck and avoid any issues that might come with her being terminated? Paying an attorney that specializes in employment to make sure this firing is all kosher costs a whole lot more than they would have paid for this girl's salary. It's stupid move money wise and is just one more story related to this tragic even being consumed by the public that didn't need to happen. One more time that the public is reminded UGA employees were related in the death of two people. Cost/benefit isn't there.

And that loss of control is... speeding? Or is there something else that isn't driving related that exhibits a loss of control?

But she was not getting paid anything. And she refused to cooperate with the investigation.

If she refuses to shed light on what happened, why should we keep her employed?

Here is the answer, and I tend to agree:

That is sickening, if true. Nice attempt at a deflection. I am sure no Georgia boosters or Georgia fans are judges/police in Athens where the athletes have cases.

Back to the matter at hand.

The truth here is she is suing them and they're trying to gather additional facts from her as a way to not pay out, circumventing the courts. It's painfully obvious what Georgia is doing here - they were trying to get that "gotcha" out of her and weren't doing so, so they got rid of her.

I hope she wins the maximum possible.

If you believe the university isn’t carrying any liability here…then you don’t know frick all and should probably shut the frick up before you and your entire fricked up university look more like complete pieces of dog shite than you already do.

I truly hope your entire athletic department burns to the ground once the truth of the entire matter comes out. Right now, uga is in the midst of a cover up. They are going to pay through the nose and I’m ready to see it. frick ‘em.

Incorrect. The university wouldn’t allow her to have her attorney present so she refused the interview. Uga fricked.

You think Georgia is screwed because of speeding?

What exactly happens when this fate is upon us?

Georgia is the worst. This should make anyone sick. Disgusting behavior by the Georgia admin over this. They should have just settled and moved on. Instead, they’re using an “internal investigation” as an excuse.

I am sure you were sick when this happened?

-- A woman who accused Florida football players Antonio Callaway of sexually assaulting her and Treon Harris of attempted sexual assault in December is boycotting a Title IX hearing because the university appointed a Gators football booster to adjudicate the case.

I am sure all gator fans were sickened.

Out of curiosity...did Florida settle and move on, or did they rig the results and then moved on?
