If they had two losses (Arky will not beat them again, maybe LSU or A&M), and Bama and LSU each had two losses, then it's possible they could make it to Atlanta on a tiebreaker. Right?

You don't beat Alabama, they allow you to win through sheer philanthropy

What's so funny about it? If you're so great, and they've beaten you two years in a row, I think it's funny how much you're discounting them.

Okay...well...Ole Miss can't even beat Mizzou, bruh.

The last time Ole Miss played in Fayetteville the score was 30-0.
Yeah, 4th and 25 happened last year, but honestly Ole Miss was damn lucky the game went to overtime to begin with and it was in Oxford.
They'll be playing in Fayetteville again this year, and are going to be skull-drug up and down the field. Yet again.

Arkansas WILL beat Ole Miss this season. I will be wagering on the game, and making money.

Starting a rsFr or a true freshman is going to make them not as dangerous early in the season. USC can give them fits first game if their young QB turns the ball over.

Also debatable because you replace three offensive lineman and your defense while improved won't scare anyone. Still even if we lose those two games we could get into the SECCG if we LSU or Bama lose the right games

So in addition to a fluky facemask on the two point conversion we were the lucky ones in that game?

You can't seriously believe Ole Miss will beat Arkansas, right?

I have any dark horse for winning the SEC it's Arkansas.

Ole Miss is an afterthought this year and with the NCAA investigation will continue to be an afterthought for quite a while...

Do you remember the last time we all thought a program was going down because of some NCAA stuff? Wasn't that Auburn with all the SCam stuff? What happened that year?

And as for Arkansas, I certainly think it's possible they could beat Ole Miss, I just don't think they will. I think Arkansas will take a slight step back this year before getting better next year. I know many think that Austin Allen will simply step into his brother's shoes and be as good as his brother, but as we all know, QB doesn't work that way. And Arky lost a lot this offseason too, but they don't recruit at Ole Miss' level to be able to plug a new guy in without a big drop in year one.

None. You gotta think LSU is probably the one to beat this year.

Your logic is sound, but I assure you that it will not prove valid by year's end.

Brandon Allen was really only good last year, in year one under Enos. Austin has now been in that system for 2 years.

There will be very little drop off in QB play for Arkansas, and the defense is going to be vastly improved. Ole Miss may get blanked again in Fayetteville this year. I think that is more likely than Ole Miss actually winning that game.

The media would have you believe that this is true of LSU every single year. But it never comes to pass.

I guarantee you that if you dug into this site's archives and found threads from this point last year, you would see a lot of people saying the exact same things about LSU. I know it's true, because we hear it every year. "LSU is SO SO SO talented! They're gonna win it all! It's "the Cycle"." Whatever. They fold like a cheap suit sometime around the beginning of November because their team is soft.

Believe what you want, man. But I'm telling you that until midway through last season, fans were FURIOUS with Brandon Allen. Hell, some a-hole burned his truck. He was NOTORIOUS for choking away games when it mattered.

The uptick in QB play for Arkansas was a direct result of Dan Enos and Austin has now been playing for Enos twice as long as Brandon was...and most say Austin was at least Brandon's equal all along, if not better.

But his brother, who has never taken a meaningful snap, is going to be just as good as very end of his 4 career Brandon.

Right?

I'm sure you apply that same logic to other first year QBs across the league.

Maybe LSU as well although I'm not totally sold on LSU.

Tennessee won't even be a contender for the SEC title.

Austin Allen is in his third year here. Call it a system if you will.
And no, this logic doesn't apply to freshmen.

George,

Who do you think will realistically win this season's national championship?
