I just feel like if Alabama makes it that far again this year, and they face Clemson again, Clemson will win the game. Simple as that.

No. My point in saying this wasn't to disparage Alabama at all. All I was saying is that while Clemson is returning a senior, Alabama is looking for another new guy.

I think you could look at just about any QB at the Division 1 level and see that a QBs efficiency only increases the longer he stays within a program, and Watson is pretty damn good already.

He should be even better this season, and he was damn near good enough to beat the Tide last year.

It's my OPINION that if these teams meet in the title game again this season, Clemson will take home the hardware. I'm sorry that not everyone believes that Alabama is a shoe-in for a title every year. You guys win a lot of them, but not all of them, and I think Clemson should be favored to win it all this year. You will be okay. Life goes on.

But full disclosure? I don't think Alabama even makes the playoffs this year.

As much as I like Alabama and believe they have as much a REALISTIC shot to win a natty as any other team in that list...I believe this is Clemson's year.

what do you define as a contender? I'd say any team that has a realistic shot at making the playoffs would be contender. Personally, I think more than 5 teams have a shot at making the playoffs. All you did was list the favorites to win each P5 conference, except Stanford has been pegged the favorite for the Pac12. Currently, Stanford, Washington, and USC all have greater odds of winning the national title than does Oregon. I'd add USC, TCU, LSU, FSU, Stanford, Michigan, and Notre Dame to your list.

Absolutely.
Two that weren't mentioned are Michigan and Iowa.
Hell, Michigan State is a contender as well. So is USC and UCLA.

To get a true look at all of the "contenders" going into the season, all you gotta do is look at the "contenders" for the conference title in the SEC, Big12 (maybe...they're a bit of a joke), the Big10, the PAC12, and the ACC.

TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Florida State, and Clemson.
