This puts you with another non-SEC team like FSU. Thanks for proving my point.

No program benefited more from the early days of NIL than Georgia.

The unprecedented transfer waiver for Justin Fields proved to be just what UGA needed.

I think/hope NIL will drastically change soon.

It won't , not drastically. Perhaps a salary cap , or some types
of NFL regulations or similar draft in the future but the game will
never be the same ---- and the question is , with the NCAA
out of the picture as many of you wanted , who or what will
regulate . Otherwise , lean back , have a beer and enjoy
the $ clown shite show.

Not an issue at Ohio State. Our players cannot wait to come back.

You, sadUFCknight and that Clemson fig remind me of the O'Doyle rules family. You barge into a thread and specifically remind everyone who you root for, don't contribute much if anything else and just take up space. It's strange imagining your mindset behind it honestly.

NIL was an awful idea. I thought when they said "pay players," they meant like a monthly stipend on top of a scholarship.

I think/hope NIL will drastically change soon.

I'm afraid the toothpaste is out of the tube at this point.
Sucks, because NIL and the transfer portal rules have RUINED college football.

NO.

It was ruined by the last 20-30 years of nearly unlimited greed by a combination of coaches, administrators, cable TV, and others that thought they could rake in millions and billions of dollars while giving the players effective compensation that was just a tiny percentage of that. What is “NIL” and the “transfer portal rules” are a result of a completely out of whack system coming unglued.

The same people that are celebrating the idea of the NCAA being laid to waste are also the same people that will be in mourning about what is to follow.

Not for Missouri and others like Ole Miss. Both had a great season last year because of NIL. Before it was the same top-heavy teams every year now it is more balanced.

I can’t disagree with this.

The love of money is the root of all evil.

You guys are laughable. 20-30 years the problem has existed, but then Dalton is bringing up NIL and the unlimited transfer system which didn't exist until 2020? Come on.

You tell your kid not to want money. Let other parents worry about telling their kids not to worry about it. See, Anthony Richardson.

That is what this whole thread is about.

The alters here have really shite the bed lately.

Lemmy, I hope you and the rest of your boys are doing great. This place isn’t.

Yep.

Once coaching salaries started getting completely ridiculous for "amateur" athletics, it was the beginning of the end. Coaches are having to now deal with what they created and they've embraced players getting paid to take the heat off their overpaid asses. Actually, Jimmy Sexton and spineless ADs have killed college football...the courts just gave the stamp of approval for "equity."

Uh huh, sure thing chief. Keep telling yourself that and maybe it will come true?

The reality of this is literally no roster is safe from poaching by teams with a need, and that includes a perceived "step down" in program stature. Think of it this way...you are a high 4* or 5* player and commit to a blue blood only to find they have one or two guys ahead of you that will be hard to beat for a starting spot...meanwhile directional state U is blowing up your phone telling you a starting spot is all but guranteed..and you'll be an NIL superstar in [insert podunk college town] What do you do?

Yeah… I hate this shite too. Having to re-recruit your whole fricking team every year is re-god-damn-ridiculous.

You just thought it was every year. There are multiple portal windows, so it’s every single open window that you have to do it. Pretty soon there won’t be portal windows and players will transfer freely I’m sure.
