Wrong again. Satan can do nothing without God's permission first. God GRANTED satan permission to tempt Job...matter of fact, God himself singled Job out to be tempted. Because God didn't have to grant satan permission to do anything. He could have said screw you, no, you don't have permission. It wasn't because satan dared him to. God allowed it to happen. Theres a difference in hierarchy there. God did it to prove a point to Satan because he knew what kind of man Job was. WTF are you even talking about? I never said Satan did anything to Job. I said that Satan bet that Job would not be loyal to god if god didn't bless him. God decided to put Job through torture just to prove a point to Satan. Seems like Satan came out the winner on that deal. Satan whole plan was to get god to do horrible shite to someone and it worked.

That's not even the point I was making though. I was just referring to the fact that god was willing to torture someone just to prove a point to Satan. Seems like a shitty thing to do. After all, he's god. He's supposed to be all powerful and all knowing. WTF does he care what Satan thinks?

I swear. The lack of common sense and reasoning skills with some of you Christians just astonished me sometimes. But what do I expect from people who believe the earth is roughly 6000 years old, that burning bushes talk, or that earth ever flooded (a scientific impossibility I should add).

It's pretty amazing how many people who haven't read the bible consider themselves devout Christians. They have no idea about the council of Nicea or the apocryphal books or how the oldest known copy of the bible is from around 200 a.d.

They just go right on believing what their pastors tell them about evolution and carbon dating and never look at the evidence themselves.

Ash, it's obvious you are either an atheist or agnostic and to each his own. And while I agree there are far too many fake christians out there and sheep who follow fake preachers etc (Especially numerous TV types in it for money), I think you throw all the people who do live right and don't flaunt it in the same pile.

I don't and never will share my personal story but I know what happened to me can't be explained. I try to think rational about things but I realized I was trying to deny something that no one there could explain. I'm not saying you are a bad person, but I think the way you go out of your way to bash God , well, this is not the place.

Is Hugh Freeze attempting to control people through his choice of vocabulary? Absolutely he is. And while a person's relationship with Christ is his own thing, nobody here is qualified to say whether he is a "Christian" in God's eyes or not. After all, the most famous verse in the book states all you gotta do is believe in Christ and you'll be saved. He'll, it goes farther than that and says you'll never even frickin die. Haha. Point is, he is certainly subject to God's vengeance as evidenced by that other famous verse made famous by the movie Pulp Fiction. "And I will strike down upon thee with furious anger those who attempt to poison and control my brothers. You will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Yeah, the biblical god is a dick. Also, he is the same god those "smelly muzies" worship...

Also, I would say someone has been doling out a hell of a lot of "vengeance" on the Muslims. I mean, we've killed several million of them in the last 15 years.

Look, religion is a spiritual thing. The Bible has been carefully edited to read as legislature. The reason this was done was so the Catholic Church control people with the fear of a vengeful god. Which is ironic because as I pointed out above, actually makes them subject to God's vengeance themselves.

The underlying message of the Bible is good. But it isn't any better or any worse than any other spiritual guide. The entire point is to try and get people to understand and appreciate their own inner divinity.
