So he's blaming rival fans for their blatant cheating?

actually, I understood it to be referring to the reactions of rival fans at attempting to explain the reasons why they are having their asses handed to them on typical fall saturday afternoons and evenings of late. As he said, they are not used to this, and find it easier to explain away with the "rebels are cheating' theory. never mind that their own football programs are in deeper with this type thing than Ole Miss.

Will his plea of unawareness of the situation allow him to continue at Ole Miss? It has worked for other HCs of sanctioned schools in the past. We shall see.

Others have pointed out that the rules have changed. Lack of knowledge of what is happening in your own program is no longer a complete defense against sanctions against the head coach. How it will play out in this case remains to be seen. Sanctions could be minor against him, if any or fairly severe. A lot may depend what turns up in the ongoing Tunsil investigation.

Especially since the "Rebals are cheating" theory is just common fricking sense.

Jesus, will you please just accept the fricking reality that your school cheated?

it's not really a theory. the NCAA has findings ole miss did cheat and also have new findings that came to light when one of those players was dumb enough to admit to more cheating on national television. i think it's more ole miss fans not having experienced this type of success wanting to explain away what's right in front of their face because they don't want to go back down to the cellar where they've always been

So Ole Miss fans seem to acknowledge cheating goes on at Ole Miss, because they know/believe it goes on everywhere else. So when Freeze says there are mistakes, but no cheating, we should accept that as the truth? Or is it simply that Ole Miss makes mistakes, but everyone else is cheating their butts off?

Having their asses handed to them? You have the exact same record as State the last 4 years.

We've won more than 9 games in the regular season. And been to Atlanta.

And still don't claim were relevant. But hey, because he has a South Carolina logo next to his name lets disregard his statement.
