There are still major issues, but one side thinks the other is racist and wants Jim Crowe and the other thinks that all protests are self serving, hands out asking for favors by instigators. It's just an exhausting process.

And therein lies the problem. We have allowed ourselves to become polarized in every walk of life by a group of people that could care less about the true issues....the politicians. They say and do whatever they think will get them elected and reelected. The politicians, both Republican and democrat don't care about right and wrong. All they care about is power.
For the record, I am not Libertarian or any of the fringe parties, either.

I have no problem with you SummerofGeorge. You have always shown yourself to be fair and evenhanded on a board of trolls. I always read your posts and give them weight.

I try, and agree with your analysis.

I think Foster is doing what he does, looking for attention, but I actually respect what Kap did because he did it knowing it could legitimately get him cut. He took a real risk, and because of that I assume it's something he actually believes in. It took me a few days to come to that opinion, though. My first reaction was to be pissed.

He was staring being cut because he's a shitty and injury prone QB, honestly.

I'd be more impressed if he could tell me how many black lives have been lost in shootings this year. Or through abortions. Or if he knew that BLM pushes for less nuclear families and more village type raised families.

It's a free country because of the many who gave their lives defending it. But a COMMIE POS LIKE YOU wouldn't understand that.

I bet you are for keeping the flag out of schools and everything else commies stand for.

That's my point, he wasn't secure in his job. Doing that easily could have been the straw that got him cut. In this day and age of puffed up twitter protests that's a legitimate risk taking protest that most don't have the balls to take these days.

And I don't necessarily agree with his protest purpose.

Or he calculated he could make his cut a racially motivated one, therefore making it harder to cut him. After all, the NFL is predominately black and he would get more support from this, than if he did nothing.

Maybe he'd like to go play in the AFL (African Football League).

Good gosh

Admittedly, a little much, but there's really no other country where he could have this incredible opportunity to make millions of dollars playing a kid's game (other than maybe soccer in Europe or South America). He should be kissing the very ground that he walks on once a day.

I don't know if you saw what Muhammed Ali's wife said about the Kaepernick thing. She said she felt like there were better ways to get the point across. Kaepernick did it first and had a lot to risk. I am hoping this is one that dies out quickly. We need good, honest conversation. There is way too much senseless violence going on and I don't care who is killed, it hurts us all.

This is true, but I think SOG's point was he knew this could have been the straw that broke the camels back. SF could have decided it just wasn't worth the trouble to keep him because of the publicity his actions brought to the team.

Ok, but that's the whole point. Only a few people are good enough to play in the NFL. I'm sure he appreciates the opportunities that has given him....but he does not turn his back on all the others that don't have the same opportunities. he could. he could make his money and live a good life and turn and walk away...but he didn't.

I my not agree with him, but I can understand why he did it. And, I have no problem criticizing him for it.

As long as people watch the games the NFL will let them keep doing it. Not a big NFL fan but there is nothing else on TV on Sunday but replays of the college games. I been watching the replay of the college games today and a movie. I hope the college players don't start this crap.

Exactly. The media loves this. It brings readers in. they love turmoil and will stir it up every chance they get. You can believe that.

It will. You can count on it. It wouldn't surprise me to read about a kid somewhere that did this very thing this past weekend.

Me neither, and after "What is Allepo?" I'm out on Johnson too.

Sad state of affairs. Luckily our country is built on people who work hard, long hours and the greatest military in the world. I maintain that even our 2 disaster candidates can't completely screw that up.

I hope.
