Get out of here with that shite. That wasn't courage, that was pure and utter disrespect to the country especially on the anniversary of the worst tragedy in America s history. It was beyond stupid and they are all trying to be attention whores.

Perhaps, but previous generations created and upheld racist laws that did their best to create an American caste system based on skin color. This generation has swung the pendulum all the way the other way.

They all have their faults.

I'm for letting people say or do whatever they want (as long as it isnt hurting others) because I believe that's America about. And that includes protest against American symbols.

I don't have to agree with it, but I'm not going to let it infuriate me or call for them to be stripped of citizenship.

^ That.

Utter trash to do it on a day like today. Their right, of course. But glad to know who the real trash is and the organizations that willingly allow their brand to be diminished and hopefully put in a financial bind with lessened support.

He has the right to protest and I have the right to say frick him and not give him my time or money. I think they are a bunch of pussies who have no idea what they are doing.

I didn't care in the slightest when I saw the subject of this thread, but seeing so many Volfans shite all over one of their own means I just found the my new favorite Vol.

Exactly what has this generation contributed? The pendulum began its swing a long, long time ago. We still have a long ways to go, but lets not give the current generation too much credit and dump on previous generations too much. It was a generation almost 150 years ago that ended slavery, and strides have been made ever since. It is a slow but steady and methodical process.

Just for reference...I am about as white and conservative as it gets. But racially we still have a long ways to go.

I will repeat what I said in an earlier post. He has the right to do what he did. however, just because we have a right does not mean it is always good....or right...to exercise it.

I am a Christian, and i think a verse in the Bible says it best:

1 Corinthians 10:23 New International Version

"I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"--but not everything is constructive.

100% agree, excellent post. I didn't mean the current generation has wiped out racism, I meant that they have swung the pendulum in terms of "talking about it" and attempting to erase it. And quite frankly I think a lot of it is self serving publicity stunts dressed up as activism. I don't think a lot of it is constructive, but it's become socially cool to throw support to these things.

There are still major issues, but one side thinks the other is racist and wants Jim Crowe and the other thinks that all protests are self serving, hands out asking for favors by instigators. It's just an exhausting process.
