if you were the employer, and you wanted to find the best candidate, why would you interview a candidate a second time that was already beaten out by a candidate?
Because you're looking for the 2 best candidates

No you actually aren't. In this hypothetical, which is shite, you are trying to ultimately find the best canidate(the champion)

Canada tiger already beat canidate elephant in your test for candidates. Why do you need to bring canidate elephant back if your ultimate goal is to find the best canidate?

Just correcting an obvious mistake by Mr. Elvert. Nothing douchy about it.

That ain't how it works.

The BCSNCG wasn't simply a game between the 2 best teams. The hiring process ends there.

No it wasn't. The BCS was a system setup to find the best team...wouldn't lsu winning at Bama at the time eliminate them from being better than lsu?

We know who that was. What's in question is whether LSU or Okla. St. was the 2nd best team.

We moved the ball pretty well between the 30s for most of the game

6 years later and this myth is still going?

For the upteenth time, from the start of the 2ndQ till the end of the game, LSU OUTGAINED bama. You dominated the 1stQ. After that, your offense did no better than ours. Other than overtime of course, when you had -10 and we gained 17.

As for the missed FGs, you "missed" one. The two that were 50+ didn't even reach the goal post and another was blocked.

Didn’t Arkansas and Kentucky in 2007 eliminate LSU from being better than them?

Or were those both fluke games that LSU wins 9 times out of 10?

It was obvious after the 2012 BCS Championship Game that LSU WAS NOT the best team in the nation.

That's not true at all. We were then 1-1. I agree with the Alabama fans who said if those teams played 10 times the records would be 5-5. But we don't do it that way and Alabama caught us unprepared for the NC and gave us a shilacking. They deserve to be champs, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they were a better team.

Did U.K and Arky have similar resumes with lsu in being chosen for the national title game? If so they should have gone over us... I have Alzheimer's so I don't remember

No, they were two teams who were outmatched by LSU but were lucky enough to win close games. The outcome of those games did not mean they were better teams than LSU.

Similar to 11/5/2011.

Not similar at all

We finished multiple games better than U.K. And Arky

Lsu finished with still a better record than Bama....

Is that why the final BCS polls each year came out before bowl season?

I honestly believe that if we punch it into the end zone in OT instead of taking the sure win, Bama doesn't get the rematch.

And we squandered the 1st qtr and the field position that resulted from it for an entire half. We didn't covert it. We had many more opportunities in LSU than LSU did inside Alabama territory, but LSU refused to let us get that 1 or 2 extra plays to get into easy FG range/TD range.

I don't understand why this makes LSU fans salty. It isn't some sort of slight. Nobody gives a shite if one team gets to the 40 more often than the other team. It doesn't matter in the end. But we were on the edge multiple times and LSU didn't give in. It was impressive as hell.

Because many people, including ones in this thread, say lsu was "lucky" to win the first game

Outgaining your opponent from the 2qtr-end of the game is not a lucky win
