Well the last time we lost at night in TS was last November.

Last day game we lost in TS was in 2009 vs Ole Miss.

In all honesty, I think we have a chance in the game but I don't like our odds.

With our style of play, our defense really needs to be helped by a strong running game and a great special teams. That was the recipe for success last year with Gillislee, Sturgis, and Christy being crucial in every big win.

I feel like we've been a little deficient in both those areas this year.

Now if we can make up for it by turning LSU over multiple times to set up easy scoring opportunities then we have a shot.

How was this determined? Just curious.

Hate that I can't quote on phone.

Honestly I do think we get mett quite a bit at least to hurry. We really do have great blitz packages and Powell and fowler are a great 1-2 punch. But, the run game. I expect you guys to run quite well on us. It's as worrying as the pass game to me. I think unless Uf balls out on run d, we don't win.

lol, I wouldn't be surprise if we couldn't. At times we struggled running against State, and we couldn't run at all vs Georgia. UF's defense is much better than both.

Landry's ankle is a concern to me. If he's not his normal self, then this prolific passing game takes a huge hit... he's the best slot receiver in the country.

I expect LSU's D will play a little better with the home crowd and UF's offense being pretty average.

Teams are built completely different this year in terms of strengths, but overall they are pretty evenly matched IMO.

I think LSU wins a close game, simply because we're at home. If it was in the swamp I would bet on UF. Basically the same thing I would have said about LSU vs. UGA which I feel was confirmed having seen that game play out in Athens.

This is a worry. Mett is immobile.

If Florida continues to play solid on 3rd down offense, and controls the ball without turning it over, I think they will be in the game the whole way with a chance to win.

Florida is physical and tough. Easily the toughest team that LSU will have played this year. They are going to be extremely physical with LSU's WR's and they are going to do everything they can to get in Mett's head.

I expect at least 6 PI calls, and LSU will have a lot of yards in the air, but I don't think it will translate into a TON of poitns like always, and I think UF will have a shot with this game ending with both teams in the 20s.

Gonna be a great game.

So it's been a trend that our running game gets contained in the 1st half. When the other team tires out in the 2nd half is when we bust those long runs. We are going to be very reliant on Zach in the 1st half. Our hope is to tire your defense out, kind of like what UF did to our defense last year.

If I were UF, i'd blitz a lot and play bump & run on the WRs. Our OL seems to have trouble picking up the blitz.

On defense....I just hope for 2-3 stops per half.

Mett is hitting his outlets and his slants. You can put him on his butt 4/5 times and he's STILL going to burn you

This I agree with, he doesn't get rattled easily, he simply gets up after a sack and calmly throws a 20 yard rope. 4 sacks will not do. Get 8 to 12 and you win.

Don't expect to use TOP to keep Mett on the bench, our D is so bad, you either score quickly or punt.

For me I think if the LSU D decides to actually play defense this week (no more bad blown coverage's and make some tackles inside 4 yards on the run) then the offense will put up points on what I believe to be the best defense in the country. I don't think that LSU will put up a crazy number but 24 points is not a stretch. Also, expect something big from the special teams this weekend.

I think this game will be close scoring in the high 20s, low 30s.

I think this is what will happen:

LSU will score a couple of quick tds. It tends to happen to our D.
FL will score a little. LSU ahead at the half.
FL adjusts, tightens up.
The game will be decided in the 4th (unless LSU gets too far ahead).

I think our passing game is wayyy improved, and what I have seen of LSU's defense isn't very good. They looked simply lost against GAg.

I think we are going to lose this game, but it will be close. But if we can get pressure on Mett, and neutralize their running game, we can steal a win. I think LSU's D is suspect enough, that we can score enough to win. That is if our D isn't too amped up at the beginning of the game, and LSU doesn't get ahead by too much.

Good post OP until the black hat thingy...but whatever.

Our defense is salty beyond words...it really is, I sat last Saturday night at 45 yd line 34 rows from field and you should see the coaching up the defense gets from our DC and Boom.

The DL misses Easley no doubt...but we have warriors like Bullard, Orr (most athletic DT since Thomas in 06), Jacobs, Cummings on the inside....outside is scarey good...Dante Fowler # 6, Ron Powell # 7 (he was # 1 recruit years ago but injured)Bryan Cox will get a few snaps.
LBs are under the radar but very good, Taylor # 51 will stick you, # 3 Antonio Morrison ditto, Darrin Kitchen and Neiron Ball are all quick to the ball. When a play goes outside you will see 4-5 Gators around the tackle...they fly to the ball.
Secondary? Unbelievable that we may have 2 first round picks in the next draft and a future top five pick.

They just wont let you get going and frustrate every offense. Miami got scores in first qt and couldn't get a first down to save their lives in the 2nd to 4th qt We strangled them but our offense struggled in the red zone.We doubled their output.

LSU has lost a lot of talent to the NFL and I think their DL will cave in if left out on field too long in afternoon heat. It boils down to LSUs OL vs our DL and LBs sealing the lanes. We stop the run...we win if we don't put ball on the ground.

All things equal...look at boxscore on sunday and one stat will tell you who the winner was: the one with the most rushing yds. Its that simple. I don't care if LSU throws for 400 yds..if they rushed for 35 yds they lost.

1. We must stop Hill. Mett will make plays, but if we can frustrate Lsu by plugging up the run this works for us. We have the best pass d in the nation, though mett and his two NFL receivers will get theirs, if we can make Lsu force throws in tight windows vs our dbs it bolds well for us.

This is the best part of a balanced Offense, ask UGA what happens when they based the strategy around stopping the run.

Dude...UGA has an AWFUL defense....look at the stats in the SEC. Come on. We have the best defense in the country bolstered by the best secondary in the country...we WANT Metty to throw and throw often.

Mett throws accurately even with guys in his face. Florida is going to have to hit him before he releases to stop him
