Boise, Idaho, and Grand Rapids, Michigan, over cities like DFW and San Antonio?
This list is unmitigated shite

I think I'd prefer Boise over DFW, and I've lived in DFW.
Dallas is a great city, but I wouldn't say it has wonderful QOL. It's a good place to make money and shop, though. No cool nature like Austin or Fayetteville.
I think San Antonio is underrated. I was having that very conversation with someone who visited SA for the first time last week.

If it wasn't for Wal-Mart and Tyson, Fayetteville wouldn't even have running water.

Yeah, if you wanna work for Walmart

If it wasn't for Georgia, Deliverance would have never been made. Play that banjo, baby!

Yep, it's a well known fact that Detroit and Memphis are way better cities than New York.

This refers more to what is coming to be called the Ozarkapolis then just Fayetteville. Stretching from just south of Fayetteville to the Missouri border.
Its been in a semi permanent boom period since the 80's with only the worst of the Clinton/Bush/Obama years making a small dent in the growth. The salaries are above average for America, the cost of living is below average.
You may laugh, and I'm not trying to throw shade on some great places to live in the south... but Northwest Arkansas is a great place to live right now.
When I first moved to Fayetteville (Northwest Arkansas) it was a college town, now it isn't. But not in a bad way. Its a great place to start and finish a career and raise a family.

If you're ever down this way, don't hesitate to say howdy

So many haters in this thread.
Growth seems to have really ramped up here in the past 3-4 years. I've really noticed it, and like you said, it's been growing at high percentages since the late 80s.
I miss the quaint small town feel of Fayetteville 20 years ago, but if you stay south of Township, you can pretend it's still a town of 40k. It is more about neighborhoods now, anyway. Uptown, midtown, downtown, mill district/southside.
Hell, even downtown Springdale is getting hipstery.

I have a thread at woopig in crapola that shows a lot of the recent downtown development.

I only go to BR to visit family and occasionally for a game. I only go through Miami for vacations to better places. Don't worry

Fayetteville doesn't even have 100k you fricktards
The website is including the metro population of Fayetteville, which according to the site is 483,396.
ETA: ...you fricktard
Guessing you have never been to Fayetteville. It is less than 200k, and there is a gap between it and Springdale which is the next town to the North. The article says the metro including Springdale and Rogers but Fayetteville is a seperate town including by spacing. Still, it has got too big for me, my town is 8 people.

The MSA surpassed 500,000 2 years ago and has been/is growing at @30 ppl a day. One of the fastest-growing areas in the nation with one of the healthiest economies. Add good schools, alot of things to do and you've what really is a good place to live.
BTW, Fayetteville has made many "Best places in America to live", as well as Bentonville and Rogers. Now, downvote away.

Yeah, pretty much every town in NWA has made some "best places" list at one point or another. Even Siloam Springs.
The Fayetteville metro area has more Fortune 500 headquarters than Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama combined. That, and a 27,000 student SEC campus. Not too shabs.

So, there's a lot of horseshite in the list, but for some local controversy
How is Jackson MS above Birmingham? How in the blue piss are both of those ranked above New Orleans and Memphis?
And yes I realize they are all 4 collective shite holes, but I can't understand the order they fell in.
