Dareus takes entire drives off, drove all the bama fans I know nuts.

Not to insult my own fanbase, but they were probably the same idiots who expected 10 sacks from Dareus.

We shall see, but I don't see why Auburn fans take things so personal. You don't see Bama fans getting their feelings hurt that Cam > McElroy. It's not always a competition...

Yes, they're so comparable.

One is a physical freak that's work his arse off to get this far. The other was as talented of OT has there has been since Chris Samuels, and took it completely for granted.

There are guys projected in the first round who didn't play a down last year. In the draft potential extremely out weighs production so when you say he didn't earn a top 5 pick because of his lack of production that doesn't mean much to the scouts

Dareus missed the first two games, and then was hampered by a high ankle sprain after the Arkansas game. I don't know what some people expected, but he was never full speed until the last two games. And it showed. Had he been full speed all year, I don't doubt he would have had 10 sacks.

Exactly. The competition is what you see at the end of November and whether or not both of us fill needs on the recruiting trail and with what type of athletes. It's not whether or not our star DL goes a few spots ahead of the other.

It's a stretch that he would have had 10 sacks, 2 of the best passrushers from 34 End, Shaun Ellis and Justin Smith, have never had a 10 sack season in the NFL.

He probably could have had 8 at best, it's just too difficult to gets a lot of sacks at that position, you aren't working from the edge like other ends.

Anyway, what I meant was, so many were expecting him to be a stat monster who had double digit sacks, which is not his job on the field...

I basing it mostly on the fact that he lost some speed due to the high ankle sprain. I can remember several occasions where he just missed sacks. At full speed he could have added to his five sacks.

You're dreaming if you think Alabama and Auburn fans aren't going to get a little competitive about where Dareus and Fairley go.
I agree it is pointless but to be honest its better than the million other off season dick measuring threads, at least this one is actually about football

I don't really care who goes first. I couldn't care less if Cam goes 1 and Fairley goes 2. I want to see Julio, Dareus, Ingram, and the rest of the Alabama players do well but this taking the Alabama-Auburn rivalry to kind of absurd levels. They're all going to get paid large amounts of money.

As a Titans and Bama fan I've come to the realization that Titans are drafting Fairley. Folks around here are think "Hansworth Part 2"....gotta take the good with the bad

Why is it that "Auburn Fans" are taking to too personal by thinking fairley>dareus but Alabama fans arent by saying dareus>fairley?

And its not a fair comparison to say, "Its like saying cam>GMac. I think it is a given that Cam>GMac. The fairley/Dareus is a very good comparison.

Also, why is it that Fairleys "off field" issues are being debated but everyone forgot that Dareus was suspended by the NCAA for improper benefits at the beginning of the year.

In the end, it wont matter. It wont even matter who is drafted first. It will be determined in about 8 years by which player is more successful.

I find that a bit strange as well..... and people saying his production was hurt because of an injury. Sounds like he may be injury prone and have character issues.

I've got no problem if someone wants to draft Dareus in front of Fairley... he's bigger and been playing interior DL longer.... but to claim NF has off the field issues when and pass over Dareus's suspension is wild.

Because paid professionals are backing up our opinion of "Dareus>Fairley". We have nothing to take personal because we have experts backing up our opinions.

It's not even a competition. Fairley will be lucky to get inside the top15. Dareus might go 1 overall.
