With what linebackers? They're pretty important in a 3-4 defense...

Beckwith, Duke Riley, and then guys like Arden Key can play outside linebacker, or at least play outside of the 3-point stance if need be. Hopefully Divinity (early enrollee) can make an impact in this first year, although I wouldn't count on it.

And we don't know if Aranda will play a 3-4 defense this year or not. Obviously, that's what he'd like to play. But, his first season at Wisconsin, they played very much like a 4-3. They sort of transitioned over to a 3-4 over time and allowed themselves to get more of the personnel in they needed.

He's said again and again that he will play to the strengths of his personnel and team. So, I bet you'll see more 4-3 than you'd expect, especially early in the season.

LSU lost 3 of their final 4 regular season games

Finished in 4th place in the west

95 percent of LSU fans wanted to fire Miles

Now they are obviously headed toward a national championship next year

3rd in the West, technically.

2016 was going to be a good year for LSU no matter who the coach is. That was part of the reason people wanted to change, because they were worried Les would waste all the talent, or something.

LSU isn't just being projected highly for no reason. They've got a ton of returning players from a pretty decent team, and one of the top 3 Heisman favorites.

Again, it's doubtful LSU plays a ton of 3-4 to start the season, unless Aranda is really comfortable with Beckwith, Riley, Key, and Neal (and what we have behind them) at that position.

I love how people pretend to know what they're talking about.

The idea that LSU is stacked with talent everywhere really isn't true. Fournette's heisman hopes went up in flames because the offensive line struggled late in the season. Now you have to replace both tackles. It remains to be seen if Harris or any other quarterback can become anything more than mediocre. The talent on the defensive line and linebacker really isn't elite either

LSU is pretty stacked at a lot of positions.

Fournette averaged nearly 5 yards per carry against Arkansas, and had over 100 yards against Ole Miss. The offensive line was dealing with some injuries, but I'll also stack a lot of that up to LSU just facing the 3 best run defenses on its schedule late in the season.

LSU also had a few guys playing out of position. Pocic isn't a center, but was forced to play there because of Alexander. He'll be at left tackle next season. Clapp can move to center, as opposed to right guard where he was this season. The O-line should have a little more stability and depth next season. Hopefully they stay healthy.

Correct. Harris had moments where he actually looked very good last season (against a good defense too), and he had his moments where he looked terrible (against a bad defense). Jennings was bad 75% of the time in 2014. Harris was bad 50% of the time in 2015. We just need a guy to be bad only about 35-40% of the time, and that would help us out a lot.

LSU doesn't lose a single guy on the D-line. Should finally be able to go 7-8 deep for the first time in three years. Obviously, that's huge in this league. And the D-line improved from 2014 to 2015, thanks to Orgeron. A lot more pressure on the quarterback, and we stopped the run well too.

Linebackers is a bit of a question mark. But if Beckwith returns, along with some versatile guys like Key and Neal, I think we'll be okay there.

Again, we won't play a ton of 3-4 next season unless the personnel fits.
