Rutgers and Maryland didn't help their brand but their brand had been trending down for years.

I think it is curious that SEC fans always talk about how much ACC suck but then always talking abot poaching ACC teams, particularly programs that are mostly basketball schools.

not one fan of ACC colleges was broke up about Maryland leaving. lol

ACC is 1/5th of the power conference programs and most of the programs on the east coast.

there is no reason SEC has to expand that I can see. Why dilute your product with Virginia / NC colelges that prefer basketball? :)

I think main reason you guys never suggest adding FSU and Clemson is because you no that makes it virtually impossible for a SEC program to win the title most years. lol

Maybe not, but it got them more money and it took their best programs and has them play yearly near the most important cities on the East Coast.

Yall would have been if it would have destabilized the league. That was a real risk or the $50 million dollar exit fee wouldn't have been followed by a GOR. The SEC has no GOR.

Because unlike the ACC the SEC has a network that allows it to monetize its footprint. The more states in that footprint the more money the SEC Network makes no matter how good the team in that state is.

This isn't rocket science.

Heh. Nice bait, but it was too obvious when you included Clemson. Next time, don't overreach by naming a program nobody has been particularly worried about since Danny Ford.

Clemson NCAA hardware = 3
M Golf 2003 / M Soccer 1984 and 1987

South Carolina NCAA hardware = 3
W O T&F 2002 / Baseball 2010 and 2011

Tell me again how tough Clemson sports are? You are so envious that South Carolina passes you more and more that you feel the need to come to an SEC board and tell me how "great"you are. I certainly have no need to go to a Clemson Board or an ACC board and tell you how good the SEC is. Imagine that!

you left out national title in football in 1981. lol

that's kind of a bfd.

pretty sure Clemson has won some tennis and soccer ACC titles, and some football ACC titles too

nobody is envious of SC. they talk all the time about their womens basketball program.

I never overhyped Clemson. Doesn't matter to me if we win titles or not.

I believe it was Dannny Ford who got the program into some recruiting issues and punishments, which led to the 90's being a forgettable decade.

It was, but he won. If you ever aspire to be a real football school, you have to remember and believe this mantra: "Better to cheat and win than to behave and lose." If Clemson doesn't understand that, then they would never have belonged in the SEC anyway.

a) were you even alive to watch it when it happened?
b) NCAA does not hand out hardware for a football game.

This is the SEC not the ACC, here we care about National hardware, not conference hardware.

nobody is envious of SC.

yet here you are on a SEC Board?

Yes, and with that kind of attitude you have answered your own point of Clemson ever getting in the SEC. SEC does not work that way, here we respect all the national hardware and in this conference we are chock full of it. Not counting football the SEC looks like this for schools with more NCAA hardware than Clemson.

Arkansas = 43
LSU = 43
Florida = 30
Georgia = 28
Tennessee = 16
Auburn = 14
Texas A&M = 12
Alabama = 10
Kentucky = 10

Congrats, Clemson is tied with South Carolina and Vanderbilt with 3

You sure are funny to laugh at.

I like college football and I live in the south so I do occasionally watch/thinking about SEC football.

I think conference titles are as impressive as national. I would be estatic if Clemson won the ACC title a lot even if we never won the national. For example, to me, it is more impressive how many ACC titles that Coach K has won at Duke, then having 4 national titles. Consistently winning a good basketball conference is as impressive a national title.

You can only post on SEC websites if you are 'envious' of SEC teams?

I was 4 when Clemson won the football title.

I believe Clemson also won a baseball title in the past 20 years with the coach that was recently fired.

Our tally should be at least 5 to include the football and baseball hardware you left out for some reason.

You should break the SEC hardware down by sports, and gender. UNC has a lot of titles in women's field hockey, for example. That is basically a club sport.

No we have posters here from other places but your posts fall in the "envy" group

This explains much. Many on here are old enough to be your dad or grandfather

Football was not included as the NCAA does not give you hardware for it. As for baseball, what year exactly did Clemson win the CWS?

You should break the SEC hardware down by sports, and gender.

Why? SEC is about Natty's. If you don't get this, you do not get the SEC

Not sure why you are talking about national titles but not including Clemson's baseball and football titles.

Wikipedia states Clemson has 5 national titles, you stated 3, because you left out football and baseball.

Coach K would absolutely agree with me that have like 15 ACC titles is impressive, as impressive as having 4 national titles, for any sports program. The reality is if Clemson starts winning ACC titles on regular basis, the national titles are likely to come too.

Clemson went undefeated in 1981 in football. I believe most consider them the national title winner. I don't know if a trophy was presented to them or not.

I thought Clemson had won a baseball title. Not sure about it and don't care as I think baseball is boring and I didn't l;ike any baseball player I met at Clemson.
