I know very well we have bye before bama. No thanks to the league office. LSU was TURNED DOWN on it's request for that saturday.

Took some backroom dealings with our good friends the ole miss black bear rebels to clear that saturday.

UT has only finished in top three of the east twice in those six years. They currently aren't one of the big six.

So because we're good and they're not, we shouldn't play them, despite them being a major rival of ours? I'm wondering if that's what you're getting at.

Florida Gators to the rescue. A program Bama conveniently misses most of the time thanks to the permanent opponent rule.

2010 and 2011 JUST happened.

We played USCe in 09/10 too.

Well, he did arrive at Alabama in 2007, but he first coached in the SEC in 2000. To be on the safe side, I think we should compare both teams records against top 10 teams from 2000 till now. It's the only way to be certain.

Or we could just go by since the SEC was created.

scroll through the whole thread to find bamael's(I think that was his handle) post I replied to.

Has nothing to do with if or not bama and UT play.

And what happened the ONLY TWO times saban had to face two of the top three from the east in the same REGULAR SEASON.

How convenient that you included the sec west records? Also, Tenn is not a part of the "big six" since 2007. I think we can all agree that USC has replaced them since. So with taking west team records out since that is actually something that is rotated correctly:

Bama-including permanent foes
UgA: 1-1
Tenn: 6-0
USC: 1-1
UF: 2-0
Combined: 10-2
Not including permanent: 4-2
New Big 3: 4-2

LSU
Tenn: 2-0
UGA: 1-1
UF: 3-3
SC: 3-0
Combined: 9-4
Not including permanent: 6-1
New Big 3: 7-4

Interesting.

2010 - Returned ONE defensive starter, won 10 games. Played the eventual National Champions better than anyone all year

2007 - Saban's first year, has Shula's players, went 7-6, all losses were close.

LSU's fans biggest complaint with the schedule is due to bama's failure to face the better teams from the east during the regular season.

Go back and compare just the top 10 east opponents faced by bama and LSU related to REGULAR SEASON only.

We've played them before, they weren't as good then, but we played them and now we have to play other teams. We can't just not play teams in the East because they're bad and we're good.

Bama plays in the West. It was just a couple of years ago (before Petrino was set up by the REC and Chizik ran off Malzahn :) that the West was a death walk. UT is good rivalry for them and will be again. The thing that eats at LSU is that BS rematch year and melt down game last year. Keep your head up - even with the schedule like it is - just don't blow another win and hope the voters don't screw you. Otherwise it would be LSU with a couple of titles in the last 3yrs. Not much difference in the programs right now. Its a head to head deal at this point - you just got screwed in 2011. Had you gotten a rematch last year - no doubt you would have won.

WRONG ANSWR there bud.

Correct answer is.

Bama finished fifth in the west in '07 and fourth in the west in '10.

In same timeframe LSU has faced two of top three from the east three times. Finished third in the west ONCE and second in the west TWICE.

Looking like four in seven years for LSU with the '13 schedule. Will be very suprised if we finish as low as third this season.

Looking like saban will still have only two seasons facing two of top three from the east once '13 season plays out.

I think if Coach Cameron can put out an efficient and consistent O a lot of people are going to be surprised, both among the P&G and outside.

Read whole thread. Painfully read the whole thread. I still don't see what the dang problem is here.

1. Playing east opponents in my eyes is pretty fun. LSU fans have a right to complain here but it can't be changed. Besides, top of the line East teams haven't had necessarily the best record against the fighting REC doners. But Alabama had a Top 3 schedule toughness in 2009. Bama's time will come again where it will face tough inter divisional competition.

2. Why the hell does LSU complain about Alabama hardly playing Florida? Alabama has played them 4 times since 2008. Includes two 1 vs. 2 matchups and the last 3 games were blowouts and not very pretty ones at that. Last 2 times Alabama has played Georgia it has been a physical curb stomping. With both games virtually being at home for Georgia. I understand playing them more than Alabama, but damn. Just prepare and win. AL and AU did it in consecutive seasons against some hard arse competition.

3. Take a look at the SECCGs over the last 4 years. 4 straight years the West has beaten the East's arse. Badly. 3 games were lost by the east by an average of more than 3 scores. To me that says the East isn't really the problem here. Schedule SCAR more. I want Alabama to beat the cocks into submission.

4. Frankly, just stop bitching. Football is football and what happens happens. Teams lose. Fans get butthurt. Get over it. The REC gets what it wants and you can blame it on Tennessee. Phillip Fulmer crucified the REC and Alabama to the tune of nearly a death penalty. REC has been hatching its master plan since then and it worked to perfection. Karma is a massive bitch

5. That last paragraph was purely shits and giggles. Don't get your jimmies in a wad.

6. This wasn't a response to any certain person in the thread. Just a bunch of scrambled thoughts that probably aren't half right in most instances.

Wasn't to long ago in 90's when Tenn,Bama and UF were at the top of the conference. Bama and Vols played every season and UF got LSU (LSU had a losing record 7 of 10 seasons) UGA and USC were mediocre to bad.

You guys can act like it's some inside job all you want. The schedules have and always will rotate favorably for some and crappy for others.
