should have shown this stat...

2013 Cross-Division Opponent Combined 2012 SEC Records

Bama 1-15
LSU 14-2

This was taken from the thread on the Tiger Rant that is talking about the ESPN graphic.

The rest of the SEC just needs to let my fellow LSU fans bitch and moan because it isn't going to stop.

I'm one of the few LSU fans on here that isn't going to complain about the difference in the schedules because I love the fact we get to play UGA and UF this year (especially since UGA is going to start out so highly ranked). 2011 was the most exciting season I can remember as a Tiger because of all the quality opponents that we took down on the way to 13-1 and 2013 is going to be just as good IMO, even if we don't fare quite as well.

The graphic also says LSU plays hard teams consecutively while Bama seems to get conveniently placed bye weeks and well timed cupcake games.

That's fine if you like it but don't bitch when LSU doesn't win titles.

Dude STFU. I'll do whatever I want.

You just continue to be miserable and whine like a bitch because Bama and aTm have an easier schedule than LSU.

Ya'll help me out here. I'm trying to figure out these records.

Since 2007 vs. Top 10 SEC Opp

LSU: 6-7
Alabama: 8-4

LSU
2008
#10 Auburn W (1-0)
#7 UGA L (1-1)
#1 Bama L (1-2)

2009
#1 Florida L (1-3)
#3 Bama L (1-4)

2010
#4 Auburn L (1-5)
#6 Bama W (2-5)

2011:
#2 Bama W (3-5)
#3 Arkansas W (4-5)

#2 Bama L (4-6)

2012

#10 Florida L (4-7)
#3 South Carolina W (5-7)
#1 Bama L (5-8)

I'm not certain if the championship counts since it wasn't a regular season game. If we leave that out the record is 5-7? Where am I missing a win?

Bama:

2008
W #3 UGA (1-0)
L #4 Florida (1-1)

2009
W #9 LSU (2-1)
W #1 Florida (3-1)

2010
W #10 Arkansas (4-1)
W #7 Florida (5-1)
L #10 LSU (5-2)
L #2 Auburn (5-3)

2011
L #1 LSU (5-4)
w #1 LSU (6-4)

2012
W #5 LSU (7-4)
W #3 UGA (8-4)

So I get 8-4 here but that has to include the championship against LSU. I don't follow the numbers here.

You're right. LSU is really 5-8. Not 6-7.

Maybe they counted Oregon in 2011? I'm not sure where the 6th win comes from either.

What was UGA ranked in the 2011 SEC championship game? I don't remember.

I'm not finding it either. Do ya'll take "since 2007" to mean 2008 and beyond or would you include 2007?

If we include 2007, LSU's win against #7 Florida puts us at 6-7 (not including the championship loss). But when you do that, you have to have to take away Bama's championship win (7-4) and add a loss to #3 LSU (7-5). So I don't follow these numbers at all.

ETA: UGA was ranked 16.

You haven't seen that? Those are the numbers Miles and Alleva should be repeating ad nauseum.

The only reason Bama's east opponents have a win is because they had to play each other last year.

REC's on direct deposit with BSPN so that can't be it. Saban must have dissed a bigwig in the hallway heading to his BSPN office.

It has to be 2008 and beyond. I think ESPN included the Oregon win for some reason.

This year LSU has byes before Bama and A&M.

The West byes are fair this year. But LSUs East opponents are harder than Bama and A&Ms.

Arkansas has the toughest schedule of all though. I haven't seen them complain.

I agree with you on the bye weeks because they are fair. However, Arky doesn't have any reason to complain because they're still going to be terrible no matter who they play.

This is a self inflicted wound by Slive.
It was totally avoidable and the damage, which was completely foreseeable, hurts not just Bama in a close case, but the conference product as a whole.
The real question, is why the SEC permitted this to occur.
Outside of Homerism, there is no good explanation.
A costly, unforced error...
