Apparently he did.

The summer classes weren't gonna give him enough credits to be eligible.

So you will have me believe that Lacy got special treatment from Nick Saban when many other top players we have recruited since 2008 were sent the juco route? Mark Ingram was returning after a solid freshman campaign, Roy Upchurch was returning as a solid back-up, and Trent Richardson was signed and qualified. Why cheat the system for a RB who eventually winded up redshirting?

Your logic makes no sense whatsoever.

Lacy getting 25 yards more than Forte on less carries = getting punked?

You do realize it's harder to play slot cb than outside, right? Also TM7 is a good cover corner. He never gave up one td in coverage in his two years at lsu.

I don't think it's a matter of what's 'harder' or 'easier'. Mathieu just doesn't have the physical attributes to guard #1 receivers on the outside. That said, I'm glad to see him succeeding in the league and it seems like he's finally got his act together

It's common knowledge that being a cb on the outside is easier. You have the sideline as an extra defender.

You're also covering the best athlete on the offense. Let's not pretend like the best corners in the NFL play nickel just to fit your agenda here.

LSU didn't want Lacy.

We've heard this time and time again.

This is legitimately true though. He was a significant risk in HS for not qualifying academically. We signed Michael Ford in the same class and had Spencer Ware and Alfred Blue on the radar in 2010, and we already had Keiland Williams, Charles Scott and Stevan Ridley on the roster. At the time it looked smart to pass on potentially wasting a roster spot for a non-qualifier at a stacked position.

Turned out to be wrong and I'm glad Lacy has been successful in the League, but we didn't want him. Not 'cause he wasn't good enough, either, just a risky signing at a loaded position at the time.

something Lacy is going to have to do to qualify. He reports a 2.0 core GPA and an 18 ACT, which he is retaking in March. “I’m really close,” he said. “I’ve got to finish up strong. Quote from Lacy. He needed 7 credits over the summer to qualify. He some how did. DWI.

Because you point was ignorant. He leads all rookies and is in the top 3 for all DBS in solo tackles. That dispels the notion that he isn't physical enough.

Or Dre or Milliner. Cb is the second hardest position to transition from college to pro. You rarely hear about rookie cbs shining. You really don't know shite about football.

Deal with what? You didn't prove anything in the quote provided above. If anything...you proved my point. Lacy says he was really close to qualifying and that he was working hard to finish up strong and get the grades he needed to make the cut. Nothing in that quote says he was 7 credits short and nothing in that quote says it was impossible to take 7 credits during the summer.

hah..okay...I'll try to put this very simply for you

all that was said was that nobody thought Mathieu would be successful corner ON THE OUTSIDE because it would be easy to exploit his size against teams' #1 receivers.

it was obvious that he was always destined to play the middle of the field which suits him much better.

also you must have a MASSIVE stick up your arse. can you not just discuss football rationally?

It's because everybody in the league is bigger than college kids. That's grown arse men in the nfl.
