It makes perfect sense, Alabama recruited a kid at a school in LSU's backyard, which is full of LSU fans and cheated to get him eligible without the school or anyone saying anything to LSU. All the teachers and guidance counselors at Dutchtown, 30 miles from LSU are all Pro-Bama.

I specifically asked Larry porter what the deal was with lacy back in the fall of 2008 and was told they were staying away because of baggage, not grades specifically. He apparently had some issues back in dutchtown and it was in his best interests to get away for college. It ended up working out great for lacy and obviously bama. Hats off to the guy for getting his shite together and bama for providing a good support system. His story is one of success, ppl need to get over the stupidity and move on.

I have no idea they Saints, who's entire offense is built on throwing the ball like 50 times a game, would spend a high first round draft pick on a RB just to give him like 3 carries a game.

He would get more carries if he were better than the other three options. Unfortunately he's regressed every year since his sophomore year of college. He doesn't possess elite NFL speed, strength, vision, or elusiveness.

No one was a bigger fan of Mark Ingram than me when he was at Bama and I was thrilled when we drafted him but he's a huge bust and I fricking hate it.

I saw Eddie play twice for Dutchtown and always thought he would be the best of the three if given the chance.

Hadn't heard that, that helps. I thought it was just academics.

Good stuff and I agree

I stated in 2011 that Lacy was the best of the 3 , but in fairness to Ingram , N.O. isn't going to give him 20-25 carries that he needs to get a going.

That's bc the NFL doesn't typically waste 20-25 carries in hopes that a player will"get a going". If you suck, you suck. Ingram was a product of being stronger than the people trying to tackle himincollege. He just can't get it don't in the NFL. Not the saints fault. Richardson was better than Ingram and lacy is better than both.

Alabamabuckeye... no LSU fans didn't want lacy... That's retarded that you'd get so butthurt over what some strangers say online.

You're also covering the best athlete on the offense. Let's not pretend like the best corners in the NFL play nickel just to fit your agenda here.

When did I say that?

Not when you say a guy that leads all rookies in solo tackles isn't physical enough.

I was in a room with a HS coach of his on Tuesday of last week. He called eddie up and put him on speaker phone.

Eddie was saying how tough the nfl is, he said he was just worn down from running the ball 27 times last week and that he was just trying to rest and recover ......

Then he comes out and dominates tonight.

Humble, humble guy. Talked to a nephew of mine about hard work, dedication. Good people.

Congrats Eddie.

You clearly aren't understanding this. There was no way E lacy was gonna qualify. The summer classes weren't gonna give him enough credits to be eligible.

See I would believe this excuse if just last year you guys didn't allow that TE to commit to you after we had to let him go because we knew he wouldn't qualify.

He didn't qualify, didn't go to LSU and is at a JUCO right now.

I hope LF was watching, because that was a great example of another LA kid for him.

It's okay for him to come to Alabama, he can be very successful there. Just the right business decision.

Truth. I think Ingram has potential. Even at Bama, he needed a ton of carries. He got stronger through the game.

Look, when you get to the pros, you have to produce with however many carries you get because you're getting big $$$. Then you'll get more. I think the most carries Ingram has ever had in a game with the Saints was 21 and he had like 53 yards. He didn't get stronger. Then he started off the year with 11 yards on 9 carries against the Falcons (who are terrible this year) and didn't do much better against Tampa. In times when they tried to give him the ball in short yardage situations, he got stuffed. The other guys usually average more yards when they have the same amount of carries. And then the guy they let go to keep him just had 139 yards with under 20 carries against the Saints last weekend. You have to make each carry count.

I thought Ingram would be a good pick. There may be better teams for him out there, but he has run soft with the Saints.

Saw this on Bama board:

Lacy fourth in the NFL in YPG.

And if you take away the game against Washington where he only had one carry for ten yards before he got hurt, his yardage goes down from 596 to 586, but he becomes first in the NFL in YPG

Impossible. According to some LSU posters on this board Eddie is too dumb to put together a coherent thought, much less communicate that thought to others.
