I've never watched a lacrosse game but I remember seeing 1-2 black kids playing soccer in high school. Not many

Boston probably has the most passionate fans in all of American sports.

I wish lacrosse was more popular in the south. Loved playing it in high school.

I can't remember where I read it but supposedly its close to soccer when it comes to the fastest growing sport in the South. Considering the large Hispanic population of the South loves soccer its impressive that it is keeping pace with that sport's growth.

The weather...

Just comparing Florida's 2017 schedule to Michigan's (a respectable cold-weather team) is pretty remarkable.

From February 17 to March 14, Florida didn't leave the state to play a game. The first out-of-state game was March 17 @Auburn. Game time temp: 65 and cloudy.

In contrast, from February 17 to March 12, Michigan didn't play a single game in the state. The first in-state game was on March 16. Game time temp: Mid 30s and sunny.

My son's school started up a lacrosse team while he was there, and he played (started as a senior). We're in La, played a lot of NOLA, Lafayette and BR area schools. Quite a few of the teams involved do very well in the football playoffs, have sent players to LSU and other big schools.

Can't say I remember seeing any black kids, if there were any, it wouldn't have been more than a couple at most.

I guess it's just exposure to the game, as lacrosse features a lot of runs and cuts, and has some contact... I'd think a safety, RB or CB would be the ideal physical build for the sport, with maybe a point guard being very desirable too.

My son's team did have some football crossovers, there were backup WRs out there.

We had 2 black kids on our team in HS. One legitimately liked it. The other just used it to stay in shape during the football offseason.

No.

But the south and west has a built in advantage called warm weather. Kids can play year round. In the north and Midwest not so much

The south values COLLEGE baseball more than the rest of the country though.

No . Only when a school has a team to get deep into the tourny. Other than that, according to the rant, NGAS. Of course, that's the same for all the sports other than football.
