Missouri has no concept of what it's like in a dominant SECE when all three traditional powers are hitting on all cylinders.

Yeah, cuz we all know that's the only time the east has solid football teams. In the years that the others are top 10 teams nationally and the Big 3 are down, well the whole east is down.

How many times from 2001-2007 did the Big 3 finish the season with two teams in the top 5?

Final Ranked teams SEC East:

quote:

2001: 4,3,13,22
2002: 3
2003: 7,15,24
2004: 13,7
2005: 10,12
2006: 1,25,23
2007: 2,12,13

quote:

2013: 5,4,24
2014 14,9

Seems like some of you like your rose colored glasses. 2001 was hands down better but the next best year of these would be 2013.

I think Mizzou's ability to hang tough on the road will allow them to stay competitive and out of the cellar for the foreseeable future. However, until they prove to be a dominant home team I don't think they will ever run the slate and become a top power

We'll still be here and maybe we won't have to listen to all the teams finishing below us talking about how lucky we are...

Yes you will because for Mizzou to win necessarily means we lucked into it. I don't care if UT has Payton Manning Jr. and UF has Aaron Hernandez Jr. Mizzou will just be lucky and the others will just be down or injured.

Exactly. Posters here continually talk out their asses. Yeah, 14 the division was down. No doubt we were even down from the prior year, but still won it. 13 the division was most certainly not down. Had two legitimate top 5 teams. Switch out Mizzou/SC for UGA/Florida and everyone would be talking about how strong the division was at the top.

So just once between 2001-2007 did the east have two teams in the top 5? And if I'm reading that right, it looks like 2014 was pretty damn representative of the other years in the east. What am I missing here?

So tired of this bullshite, and that's what it is. Stop sucking maybe? Stop losing games you shouldn't? 13 we finished in the top 5, 14 we weren't as good but still finished in the top 15. We can't help what the rest of you are doing.

You're tired of it? Then do something besides embarrass yourself when you get to the Big Game.

True - you can't help what the rest of us are doing. But that doesn't help your argument does it? Especially when you've totally shite the bed in historic fashion both times your reached the SECCG.

Win it or - hayell - just be competitive in it - and maybe you've got an argument.

Nothing buddy. Whats even more fun is seasons were the only team ranked in the division won it. I have pointed it out plenty that 2014 was probably in the bottom 1/4 of seasons as far as strength in the East but 2013 was in the top 5-7 seasons as far as East strength.

Historic fashion? Be competitive? The 13 game was tied in the 4th quarter numb nuts.

Bama smoked us, they were a lot better. Our best player got kicked out and the refs blew a fumble call when the game was still very much in hand.

It must suck to have such a lucky, inferior team to keep finishing above you, huh?

You can't go by end of year rankings. The teams beat up each other. You really had to be in it and watch each of the teams. Georgia, Florida and Tennessee all had scary teams and it was a battle for the East crown.

Ask anyone that followed the SEC East. It was a a beast compared to what it's been the past couple of years.

That's not a slight to Mizzou, it's actually helped y'all get the ball rolling.

See, this is exactly how the narrative changes when its crushed with facts. It used to be that "Mizzou only won because the East was down" but when you present some facts to counter that it switches to performance in the title game.
