Of course Auburn can match anyone monetarily, BUT it's not always about money.

Memphis offered Calipari more money than Kentucky, it was the allure of the job that reeled him in, not the $$$.

Pearl would owe Auburn $5 million if he left after the first two years. After three years, the buyout would be reduced to $4 million, then $3 million after the fourth year, $2 million after the fifth and trickle down to $1 million in the sixth year, according to Jacobs.

yeah... memphis would be an interesting destination, provided they eventually figure out that pastner is a joke of a coach. Bruce would probably kill there, and they lack the "hollier than thou" tendancies of a lot of the blue bloods out there.

what i'm trying to say is there aren't many programs in america with the questionable morals to hire a guy who's had a show cause.... AU and probably Memphis are two of them.

The rest of our programs aren't in such a sad state that football isn't still king.

But by all means...be dense.

well let's see football hadn't been mentioned in this thread yet baseball had. he posted the the comment stating 'both those sports', pretty sure that's not me being dense, that's just an aub being stupid.

regardless, i'd still like the bet that you will beat us 3 consecutive years in 2 sports (any of the 3 big sports will work for me). would you take me up on that?

Football is in the URL. We complain about the offseason here which refers to when football isn't being playd. He didn't respond to the post about the baseball coach. And for every school here with the exception maybe of kentucky, when someone says 'we're going to beat you' it typically refers to football.

You're dense or stupid. Your choice.

i dont' care about any of this. Make a bet, don't make a bet, it's the internet...who gives a shite...it won't put money in my pocket. Yes i'm scared (just to cut you off at your next great post.)

it's also a red herring away from the discussion of your stupidity.

With the exception of UK and UF, the rest of the SEC are cookie cutters of each other. AU offers a nice Arena, a nice town to raise a family, a hour and a half from Atlanta, an attitude that the past is the past, and three million dollars per year. Why would he want to leave.

Context clue is rarely a red herring.

Ok so let me understand. The conversation moves to you being dense you respond to that but then state but mentioned about a bet earlier to another poster and bring that up with me but that isn't off topic from our discussion about you being dense?

I hope you can convince yourself that you're not being dense because I doubt anyone else will buy it.

Only at Arkansas do they assume "both sports" doesn't include college football.

Especially considering Arky baseball and basketball are both plainly mediocre and nothing to be especially excited about.
