I'm starting to look over my shoulder everywhere I go now. The Arky threads about Auburn are astronomical and very unhealthy. Please don't eat my insides and wear my skin.

He will build a legacy at Auburn, it will go from Auburn Arena to the "Pearl Arena"... I actually believe he will build a legacy at Auburn..

Reminds me of Saban (Great Coach who left one SEC school to have greater success at a rival SEC School).

Hah. Sure thing. Both sports means baseball and basketball? And that's not being dense? It's gotten bad in Arkansas.

We are paying him 2.2mil$/yr (goes up every yr) with no bball program. If he builds a program, there aren't going to be that many people who can pay him close to what Auburn will to retain him.

Additionally, we are a Under Armour flagship school along with ND. If we build our basketball program, Under Armour will parade him around and make him their poster child. Very attractive opportunity

He isn't a young buck anymore. He will be pushing 60 by the time he built Auburn up enough to be attractive candidate AND a big time job opens up worth leaving.

Legacy building is important to some guys. He can try and do it nationally or he can almost for sure do it at Auburn (I mean wouldn't be hard). If he becomes the all time win leader coach, we may name the court/arena after him and he would be a legend. Auburn treats its legends well (Bo Jackson, Pat Dye and Pat Sullivan take paychecks to the bank thanks to their yrs at AU)

I will never feel comfortable about Pearl leaving but he is a good fit, he knows it and I don't know if there will be a can't miss opportutnity that comes up

If he does well he will get a better offer.
The Duke job could be a possible destination.

Phil Jackson wouldn't even be able to build a legacy at Auburn much less Pearl. He will take you guys to a few NIT's and maybe a first round NCAA tourney game before he bolts to a real job.
Auburn is the Purdue of College basketball.
