"LSU fans do not know what to expect from JJ... Against 2 SEC defenses he completed less than 50% of his passes. Had 3 TD and 1 INT, and in neither game he threw for over 200 yards."

In regards to his yardage, he was micro managed, which was an error of the coaching staff. Had we not went conservative and left the cylinders running he would of been over 200 with a win against Arkansas. Can't fault Jefferson at all in that one.

JJ has gotten better each game he's played.

End of discussion.

congrats....its called game time experience. If you aren't getting any better each game you play, you're about to lose your spot on the depth chart.

He's only started 2 games. Lost one, won one, threw for under 150 in both and averaged less than 2.5 per carry in both. Started out hot in the bowl game and finished for around 7 of 25 if I'm not mistaken. He's gonna go through some growing pains, but if yall's D can come together, that will take alot of pressure off and help him have a decent season.

Actually he finished the game 16 for 25. If our defense gets back to where we know they can be, I will take that everyday.

We don't need huge games from him. Just manage and make the passes when needed. As he gets more experience though, I would look for Crowton to loosen up some with his play calling. The kid can make the throws.

I think that he has the potential to be a good QB. The more games he plays, the better he will get.

Right.. he started 9 for 9, then went 7 for 16, dunno why I was thinking 7 of 25. Not bad, but not stellar either. Given it was only his second start though. And that's my main point, he just needs a good D to help him out this year. He will be having growing pains, as will our QB this year, neither have gone through a grueling SEC schedule, nor faced the D's they will, week after week.

He will certainly have growing pains, but if he can continue to improve, I think he will begin to put up really good numbers. The staff was conservative with him last year, which actually lost us the Arkansas game.

But you are right, the defense will set the tone. If they are back up to being a great defense, it will make Jefferson's transition all the easier.

Can agree with all that. The fall cannot get here quick enough.

somewhat by design

the gameplan entirely changed if you watched...coaches had him out their just seeing what he had to work with.... he was throwing a lot of deep bombs that wouldve never been thrown in a close game

He was only impressive on one drive that i can remember against OM.

was that the only game you saw him play? he had about 3 or 4 of those drives against georgia tech. he also had arkansas beat on the road until tremaine johnson and rahim alem's boneheaded penalties fricked things up. he's still got a ways to go but , to sound like les, "i like our quarterback."

JPW missed alot of deep bombs too, didn't mean he was gonna be good the next year.

I know what you're saying though. I definately think he's got potential to be really good, will just take some time. I asked before the bowl game why Miles didn't bite the bullet earlier in the season and go with him and got blasted by alot of Tiger fans. Hate he lost a year for just a couple of games.

Without reading through 3 pages I'll go out on a limb and say that the consensus is that most LSU fans are saying to expect big things while most other fans are saying he's too raw and will need time to develop.

LSU fans believe in him for no other reason than they know he wont throw 8 pick 6's.
With that they believe he is already the best...

You will see some LSU fans if you read the rant have compared him to a young Vince Young and have said he is already better than Terrell Pryor.

LSU fans do not know what to expect just like other SEC fans do not know what to expect. We are rooting for him to succeed that much is a given.

JJ will have a good year. The only thing keeping us from having a good year last year was the defense. We did pretty well considering we had the master of the pick six under center. Between JJ, RS, and an improved D we should do fine.

Also, I see nothing wrong with Ole Miss fans enjoying some of the spoils of a good season. Congrats, and I hope they do well again this year (just not against us). We should all remain humble, because anything can happen in the SEC. Dont get too spoiled LSU fans, and I hope somebody kicks Florida arse. Thats all

i love how you keep repeating this like he is a RB. You realize sacks count in QB's rushing totals right?
