Yep. Strangely, you don't hear that now.

I've been to all but 3 WLOCP since I graduated in '77 & no one in my tailgating group in Athens, or my extended circle of UGA season ticket holder friends & acquantices, or anyone I've ever met at any kind of Bulldog Club function or any type of UGA Alumni Club function have espoused that sentiment. I've seen it in the AJC & on the internet & thats it. No one I know who's ever been there or has any affiliation with UGA wants the game to move...
I'm sure there was a lot more unfavorable opinions when Florida had won 18 of the last 21 there.

Auburn posters will not believe you.

Everyone but the ajc who was hunting for page views was fine with Jacksonville. We owned the previous 20 years before Florida hahday and we are winning now

18 of 21
We're now we're 3-0 on our scheduled 20 years of dominance...

I can't speak for Georgia fans but there zero Florida fans that want this game moved (Especially after hanging half a hundred between the hedges).

It's mostly either disgruntled people in Atlanta who didn't feel like making the drive to see us get whipped or people that hadn't experienced the Jacksonville weekend. But I can assure you that the vast majority did not carry that same sentiment. Just because a few people scream the loudest doesn't mean they represent the rest of us.

Legion Field was a dump in a horrible neighborhood. I hated going there. Home and home is MUCH better.

Actually, you heard all that around the time the contracts were being renewed, and UGA was angling to get a better deal on what was paid for as far as their travel expenses, which they received. Never underestimate the power of a well-played PR campaign at the right time.

Its hard for Florida to win when there's a dawg coaching on both sidelines.

Initially yes, but then I went to a game and my mind was changed.

Last season I met the most random people trying to hide from the rain Friday night at the landing. Apparently these 3 techy hipsters we were waiting out the storm with had flown in from san fran, because they had heard so much about the game... turns out like 5 days later they were all billionaires when twitter had their IPO.

You win some you lose some.

HOME & HOME!!! NOBODY can tell me a 4+ hr. drive from Athens IS THE SAME as a 1 hr. drive from Gainesville! It's basically a "Home" game for the Swamp Rats.

Why not - it's a "home" game for y'all distance-wise.

Florida takes a 2 hour bus ride. Georgia's team flies an hour and takes a 1 one hour bus ride. It is the same thing for the teams.
Now the fans: Jacksonville is the closest big city to the border. Florida fans have to drive from as far as Miami, while Georgia fans drive as far as Atlanta. Essentially the exact same thing.
The only argument a fan of Georgia really has is that it screws over the students having to drive from Athens.
After living in Jacksonville, I would hardly call it a "home" game. Perhaps you would like Valdosta instead?
