Like another poster stated... It's the combo of Booms that has them worried. If they weren't worried they wouldn't have been so hell bent on us not hi riding him. Now that we've made the hire they're doing everything they can to down play it. Live it up bammers. You better win it all this year because it'll prob be your last chance for a while

Dude as a Florida fan, I'd let him go to Georgia.
South Carolina.
Any team in the SEC.
He couldn't stop an FCS with 0 completions for the entire game and more injuries to their team than our own.
672 yards vs. Bama.
Furman put up 200 yards of rushing.
Louisville absolutely rode his defense when we had NFL talent on defense.
Everyone's just being cordial, but I don't fear him at all against a decent offensive mind. He gets picked apart.

Why is a Florida fan worried about this? Seems like Florida has enough of their own problems to worry about. You are gambling on another unknown head coach and your recruiting class during this cycle might be worse than Vanderbilt's

Does Florida still not have an indoor practice facility?

Honestly Muschamp has some strengths as a defensive coordinator but he also has some weaknesses- he doesn't blitz, is horrible at generating a pass rush, and us very, very slow to adapt.
Frankly Florida's defense under Boom was at best equal to what it was before he got there, it's not like improved the defenses especially after you account for the fact that he inflated his defense's stats by running the clock and trying to keep them off the field.

Yes. Yes he did.

Or when he does blitz it's on third and long and they have no defense for the screen at all. 3rd and 23, I remember those numbers pretty well.
And he never adapted to anything, he's got one tool: A hammer. If it doesn't work? He tries to hammer some more.

I posted on our board the other day that: He inherited a talent rich defense that...hasn't really changed since he got here at all. The defense hasn't been an issue for almost a decade.

These posts are enlightening. A few of you aren't giving him credit for his defenses at Florida, which helped him keep his job this long.
2012 A&M, USC, UGA, and FSU?
Despite the injuries, last year's bunch appeared pretty solid as well. I'd considered Muschamp to be a high tier defensive coordinator whose skills rivaled Smart/Saban's and Chavis'. Even the best defensive coaches fail to have a good gameplan sometimes, and coaches can only do so much. It's up to the players to execute.

Yeah, some of these posts bring to mind the "Saban is done, the game left him behind" posts. This place is so reactionary, a nice reflection of society so to speak. Muschamp's body of work speaks for itself, yet some hone in on some bad games.
It's as if some are too dumb to understand what outliers are.

OP is just scared of the looming Auburn powerhouse. We are not worthy of Gus and his mighty offense. We're all scared.

Yes, that's it.
If you're arguing AU didn't improve with this hire, you're suspect.

Eh... I think Champ is a bit overrated defensively. The only year that we had a legitimately great defense under him was '12, and we had so much talent that season that'd it'd pretty much be impossible not to.
When he doesn't have an overwhelming talent advantage and needs to do something creative, he really isn't that great. I'm sure he'll be able to recruit a lot of defensive talent to Auburn, though.

Thanks to his offense numerous turnover (5 I believe)..... But now that he has an Offense that can produce. Watch out......

And the defense was on the field for 40 minutes...that's happens when your offense sucks. Moron..

The defenses were good enough in each of his 4 years at UF to win a title with a competent offense.

Disagree. In 2012, sure. The past two years, hell no.

Won't the defense be on the field a bunch if the offense scores fast?
