This why 97 UF game is my top 3.

True, I didn't deal with many LSU fans until I joined here. That's when my anger towards some of you began. Did your anger with Bama fans also start with TD? Or was it there before.
I went to Tuscaloosa in '03 and had a good time with the Bama fans. I truly think the disdain stems from y'all being our biggest obstacle to the BSCCG the past few years.

Yes, though hate may be a strong word. Has LSU pointed towards Bama? Certainly, for a number of reasons...
1) There is no true rival for LSU anymore. It was Tulane back in the 60's and 70's. However, that lost steam when Tulane left the SEC and eventually fell by the wayside, football wise. Same with Ole Miss in the 50's and 60's. Except of course, that OM is still in the SEC.
2) It really plays along the same variable that gave us a rivalry with Kentucky in basketball during the late 70's through the early 90's. When Dale Brown came to LSU, he pointed at UK and said, "they're the kings of the hill. If we want what they have, we have to go through them to get it." Right now, LSU and Bama are the kings of the hill in the SEC, though Bama has had the edge lately. So, it comes to the same thing. To get back to where we want to be, we have to go through Bama, until someone else climbs that hill.

Alabama has been my most hated team since I started following College Football religiously when I was around 10 years old.
About that time I started attending all LSU games, home & road and bowl games, and it's just the one school I hated the most.
Saban going to 'Bama really didn't affect my hatred toward Alabama. I hated the school just as much when Debose, Franchione and Shula were there.
Only once have I ever rooted for Bama, thank you Andrew Zow by the way, and I hope I never have to do it again.

Gotcha, well it seems like multiple LSU fans have different reasons.
For me it's different, cause with UT and Auburn fans I actually know those folks IRL. Have to work with them interact, etc.
For most of the Bama fans I know any anger with LSU is basically what you said... The fact you have been our biggest obvious obstacle to a MNC the last few years.

I hate him. I actually don't hate Shula. Kinda feel sorry for the guy.

My best friend (LSU fan) lives on Lake Harding, not far from Auburn. He lives among Bama, Auburn and UGA fans, plus his wife's brother is a UF alum. Not sure I could do that.

Coach Shula was put in a pretty tight spot...just wasn't ready that's all. Franchione, man what a peckerhead.

About 1/3 of my friends are auburn fans. It's definitely a love hate relationship from September to early January.

I've gone to many rivalry games across the country in my many years. Army - Navy, USC - UCLA, FLA - FSU, Texas - Texas A$M...but nothing beats Bama - Auburn for pure outright hatred. It's definitely on another level.
Now, where Saban's concerned, I don't have an issue with him. Had he left LSU for Bama, maybe. In reality, he wanted to try his hand in the NFL, he realized that he made a mistake. LSU was having success under Miles, so coming back here wasn't an option. Then Bama opened up and he knew that was a chance to come in and build a powerhouse in short order.
So, I don't begrudge Nick, I like and respect him...though when he's on the opposite sideline, I damn sure wanna beat him.

Exactly, Shula took a job in a bad situation at a bad time. Hiring a guy in May to take a job at a team on probation is tough. Do I think he was a great coach? No. Do I think he did the best he could and probably better than most given the situation? Yep, and I commend him for it.

Thank god. So when are you going to start making threads about who A&M hates the most and why?

If anybody seriously thought that he would jump from Bama to LSU right now, then what you said would mean something.

Yes
It started when the tow began playing every year. We would hate Alabama with or without Saban. We hate Saban because he went to Alabama, not the other way around
