So what's especially funny to me is that all of this whining and indignation comes from a wishful thinking rule that never existed, and which, if it did actually exist, would have put the easier team into the National Championship for them to play. Talk about an agenda. Of course they wanted that to be the rule. It's how they got in in 2007 too.

Why do you people think all conference champions are equal? Can you not see that the winner of the ACC, big east and Big 10 are not even close to being as good as the SEC top 2 most years? Would it really upset you that bad if they included an at large bid in the playoff? I bet it wouldn't have until this past season, when the system actually did work and matched up the obvious top two teams in the country in the championship game. Most years the at large team would not have played the other teams in the playoff. I'm sure you would be ok with it then?

Conference champ should have no part of it. It should be the top 4 teams regardless of conference affiliation.

LSU Fans should not blame the ESPN hype machine they should blame the Big 12. The Big 12 did not have 12 teams and an (extra game) Big 12 Championship Game like the SEC/Big 10/Pac 12.The Big 12 tried to be slick by playing their final conference games on the same weekend of the SEC/ACC/Big 10/PAC 12 Championship Game Weekend. No wonder Texas A&M, Mizzou and Nebraska left that pathetic has been conference...

Then why have conferences. Especially with travel now. They had a purpose back in the day when you couldn't fly to games

Wouldn't be the first time. Some of the changes and tweeks made in college football history is because Bama wins by the rules at the time, and the others change the rules because Bama is winning.
Bama had to go to the Rose Bowl back in the 1920's to put Southern football on the map. And ever since then, all the other teams in the South have been hanging on our coattails, trying to beat Alabama.

Pretty sure in 2007 the only controversy was LSU or USC both conference champs with 2 losses. Or LSU and Georgia both with 2 losses but LSU was a conferenc champ and got in. So go back to kitchen
