Bama has changed college football and how it crowns its champion once before.

Bama was the reason that the polls decided to wait until after the bowl games to crown its champion, back in the 70s.

So Bama's been the catalyst for changea in CFB in the past.

yes, they were handed free national championship game on a platter. I remember college football fans all across the nation were furious when they announced the rematch.

Hardest part of the game would be avoiding the methhead with the knife.

The proposed plan says that the teams do not have to win their conference to get in the playoffs and they will use permanent stadiums for venues so they wont be on campus.

Man the conference commissioners could frick up a wet dream

You'd be cool with LSU having to travel to freezing arse Nebraska or somewhere similar for a playoff game?

Nope been saying that there needed to be a playoff since 03. So USC couldn't claim a NC that year. This year just pushed it over the top. Bama fans know they didn't deserve to be there but it is against the law in Bama to say so. I think it is punishable by stoning

No. ESPN did by diluting the Bowl system and making it invaluable. The old system, while it was stupid, made the primary goal selling tickets at the gate by getting two high profile teams. Now the primary motive is to get the most tv ratings. In both system you have to reward the facade of play on the field at first, but the mystique of the bowls is lost on a whole generation of people. No one cares.
