Apparently, a lot gets by you. Our defense is in better shape this year than after our '09 season and Saban has Petrino's number. Deal with it.

I said a 12-0 team going to 9-3 is a drop. That's not exactly crazy. I guess Arkansas was the best team Bama beat that year so that's what they hang their hats on. But didn't they finish 4th in the West that year, behind Arkansas.

hot seat = specualtion
so who gives a shite?
again, what does this have to do with Petrino never winning the West?

Why does this matter? Bama still beat Arky that year and Petrino still hasn't won against Saban. I guess finishing ahead of Bama in the West is all you can hang your hat on for that year.

Everything. And nothing.

Funny you ask that.
I was talking with Tool about the definition of the word 'drop.' I considered Bama going from champs to 4th in the division a drop.
Then you come in and say "But Bama still beat Arkansas that year."
Yet here you are, asking me why Bama finishing 4th in the West after a national championship 'matters' in a discussion about them dropping from 2009 to 2010.

losing 10 starters and still winning 10 games is pretty good IMO. I really don't think its much of drop. A slight drop? Sure. However, they still beat Arkansas, which is who this thread is about. Bama "dropped" according to you and still beat Ark.
For the next couple years, LSU and Bama are likely standing between Ark to win the West. I don't Ark will get over the hurdle.

Of course it was a drop. After winning a championship, you have nowhere to go but down. That still doesn't mean it was a huge drop, like you implied.
quote:I was asking in terms of beating Bama, which is what we're discussing here. Even after the drop following a NC, Bama still beat Arky. You're using our potential for a drop (like in '10) as evidence for why Arky will beat Bama this year, when you couldn't even beat us during our last drop.

I disagree, LSU has already peaked under Miles. Their last shot at a national championship with Les was last year and they just couldn't beat Bama.
He will have a couple more good years but Petrino and Saban will stand between him and any more championships.

Disagree. I think this year will be either Bama or LSU in the NC game.

Both have been at their respective schools longer too.

Well, a NC and a 13-1 SECC season is pretty tough to beat, we may get a 14-0 year at some point or a one loss NC. who knows...

I guess the rant is gonna fire him in a couple years huh?

yea, Miles never beats Saban and Petrino's track record is way better than Miles'.
Excellent post brah.

it only took 3 years for both to win a NC
Maybe BP can win the West in his 3rd year...

I said he will have a couple more good years, not a couple more years total. He will have some shitty years.
