But fwiw, I believe LSU will beat Bama in the regular season again this year, which will be good for 2nd in the West. Depending on how the East shakes up the winner of LSU/Bama in 2012 could decide 2nd in the SEC overall, and hopefully get an at large bid to the Sugar.

What the hell is this shite? You're really penciling in Arky over Bama and LSU in the West?

You hogs do realize that for yall to win the West you will need BOTH Bama and LSU to be down.. in the same year. Outlook isn't good for 2012.

I think I'm pretty level-headed but you never know. Now had we not fired Willy, I might wonder and be a little concerned...

We get both in Fayetteville, and both teams won't be as good as last year. I like our chances.

Well since yall almost beat LSU and Bama last year, and those 2 will be worse, Ark should be in good shape, amirite?

Reading this thread makes me think of the Butt-hurt Petrino felt last year. This makes me happy.

I think LSU could easily be better than last year. Bama will drop some IMO and I think we have a shot at finally beating them.

I find your abundance of faith disturbing.

it seems like every time bama is supposed to drop, they don't.

It's gonna take alot of dropping for Ark to get over the hump that is Petrino vs Saban.

Not really. We led them into the 4th quarter 2 seasons ago until Mallett choked. We have them at home and have Knile back as well as the best QB in the conference. Assuming our defense is semi-viable we have a good shot.

You mean like when they won the NC in 09 and lost a bunch of D starters and went 9-3 the next year? At least they were able to win the Cap One bowl but I would definitely consider that a drop. That was in 2010 bub, not exactly ancient history.

The reality of the matter is this. Couple that with the fact that we hate to win against Bama, it could be another similar season for Arkansas.

Now, I'm not giving up hope against either, and knowing Arkansas, we could possibly beat Bama (maybe even LSU ) but then we'll lose a couple of gimme games.

Petrino used every weapon at his disposal last year but best I can tell he only has two middle fingers and we've already seen both of them

like I said, always seems to be something keeping Ark from that goal

Bama has Saban back

pretty big assumption

a 10 win season is still pretty good. Hell, if you win the NC where else can you go but "drop"?

Not really much of a drop IMO.

So if LSU loses 3 games next year you wouldn't consider that a drop?

Miles will be on the hot seat if that happens. You know it, I know it, everybody up and down Dalrymple knows it.

considering we dont lose a ton, yea it would be a drop, but bama lost like 10 starters just on D and still won 10 games the following year.

If the rant gets promoted to AD, maybe so, but until that happens it's gonna take alot more than 3 loses for Miles to be on the hotseat.

What does this have to do with Ark finishing 2nd at best in the West next year though?

Serious question, how long have you been following LSU football? Miles was on the hot seat when he was 7-0 in 2010. Tennessee game ring a bell? Probably not, from the looks of this thread you just started following SEC football in 2011.
