This will forever be Mississippi State's greatest accomplishment as an Education Institute.

Not a pussy at all. He's making 4 million a year at a school that he has spent the last 9 years of his life invested in. The fans and the administration are thankful to have him in Starkville.

Florida just fired their head coach after back to back SEC Championship appearances.

Is anyone else starting to feel sorry for these Ole Miss posters? It's like they've become so hopeless that they have no shame.

One thing I know for sure....with everyone in the world either reporting that Mullen is at the top of Florida's list, or guaranteeing that Mullen would leave in a heartbeat if offered the Florida job....When Dan Mullen is the coach at Mississippi State next year, we will all be able to agree on the fact that he turned Florida down. Then, maybe the bullshite will stop.

Lots of backhanded compliments in there.

Props for sticking around as an OM fan though. Gonna be a long decade.

$4.9, actually, and will be over $5m starting in the Spring. Who would turn down a top 15 salary at a job with no pressure, no overbearing alumni trying to exude control, a neutered rival, and the best recruiting class in state history coming up in 2019? He's proven he can get us to number 1, so why can't we do even better? It's a dream job if you don't mind small town life, and I know his wife loves it.

If the Bull Gators have any say in whether Dan Mullen is the next coach at UF (and they do), then I'm betting he won't be at the top of the list.

His "dream job" has opened 3 times since he's been in Starkville. He's still in Starkville.

I believe he is correct and Florida would be crazy if they didn’t offer Mullen the job.

Have you also begun to forget that Ole Miss is still a school? I keep thinking that Arkansas is the last game on the schedule. Fitzgerald may run for 1000 yards in the Arkansas and Ole Miss games combined.

He's done a good job, albeit with some bad losses, at MSU.

This is year 9 of Dan Mullen. He lost once or twice to OM that will get vacated by the NCAA and last year was an aberration, including a loss to South Alabama.

Name a couple of those bad losses.

He's only 45 with almost 8 years as a head coach in the SECw. It's difficult to argue that his tenure at MSU has been anything but outstanding. He coached at UF and has a relationship with the current AD and he addresses UF's biggest weakness throughout their last two failed head coaches' tenures. How many more boxes does he need to check?
