Way more back story to this, just can not see the FL AD poaching from MSU, this should have been expected by all up front.

Dan Mullen's dream job has officially opened up and I don't think he lets it get past him twice. I understand why he wasn't offered the job last coaching search for Florida but this time it will be completely different.

What a waste of an hour on that Mullen Bio.

Why would Dan leave State, where he makes ~$5M to go to Florida that just fired 2 HCs that won East Division Titles?

At MSU, Dan has TOTAL control of his program, can have an occasional 'bad' year like '16, his wife is not yelled at while shopping, and a majority of those in charge actually like him.

Just don't see it!

Nice research there, Shea. When Florida announces Frost as HC, I hope you will come back and give us the scoop on him.

Reason would be talent pool. I don't think money would be a significant factor. Gainesville is a dump town so that wouldn't be much of a draw. The fact that FL is still a big name nationally and the state is packed with elite talent would be enticing. Look at how he's built up the quality at State. Now think about what could be accomplished if he had the talent that he could get on the roster at FL.

UF will naturally have more talent than MSU.

Mullen hated recruiting when he was at UF the last time. Even Tebow busts his chops about his horrible recruiting personality. He's prickly and intense and doesn't like to waste time playing the "I like you, do you like me?" games. State fans pretty much overlook this, but I doubt Florida fans will

Mullen won at Florida once with Mittsippi kids. The new Sharks won there too. I know the state of Florida has a lot of talent though.

Sorry. But your nightmare of Dan in Starkville will continue for several more years. Happy Halloween!

I know you Ole Miss folks are hanging on to desperation for good news in these troubled times. You also hope beyond hope Mullen leaves MSU to the point your fans have went to other boards of teams in a coaching search in the past and begged them to take Mullen.

But think about it. If Mullen leaves.. that leaves you with fewer choices for a competent coach if MSU is hiring. You just get placed one rung further back.

If you get too far back, there is a Defensive Line coach somewhere just waiting for their shot at the big time.

Everyone always assumes that having a relationship with the AD is a good thing...

Mullen and Cohen have a much better relationship than Mullen ever had with Stricklin

State could hire Hellen Keller and beat Ole Miss. Ole Miss should dump Landsharks and get Caitlin Jenner a.k.a Bruce to be your mascot. You don't know what you are.

All the OM predictions are reminding me of the sweet, sweet sounds of Louisville fans last year, crowing about how they took Peter Sirmon from us and dumped sorry ol' Todd Grantham off on MSU

Man, they were such smug pricks about it

He does hate recruiting. However, he could easily attract an excellent staff of recruiters to FL. Its a dream area for a coach who makes their hay in the recruiting world. Let your underlings recruit for you. All Dan would have to do is show up on the chopper or air boat and glad hand. A good FL program recruits itself.

For the record I would like to see Dan at MSU for the rest of his career. He puts a good product on the field and that is good for the whole state. Its also rare that a HC stays at one school. I think its pretty neat and harkens back to what we think of as nostalgic college fb.

Everything you say is true. But Mullen almost has an allergic reaction to 4* and 5* talent

Hell, his first order of business at MSU was to try and run off Tyler Russell, the best QB prospect we had ever had. Granted, Mullen knew what he was doing

This isn't what we are talking about and you know it. Why not just take up the damn sig and quit being a welching little anyone who plays LSU troll. You have no honor, credibility, class. You are just a poor little state fan that has to grasp to the fact that you once were number 1 in the country for 4 weeks and that is the highest you will ever see your program attain.

Why are you crying lil dude? I did hear something that I thought I would never hear. A LSU guy said that LSU doesn't matchup well against LSU. He just wants a close game. I couldn't believe it.
