Well damn, that's the end. No coach has ever left for another program while they're under contract with their current school.

If he has Saban clout, that contract will let him walk whenever the frick he decides it's time.

still Dabo. it's called a buyout and Bama has enough $ to pay it.
And lol at the $6.75M as if that's some type of deterrent. When Bama offers him, it'll be about $8M per.
ETA: we don't anticipate needing a new coach for another 4 years at least (Dabo's youngest will be graduating by then and he'll be more likely to move at that point).

It's more like a shrubbery really, so at least it'll be an easy search.

What do you expect Dabo to do? Not sign it b/c I might be the Bama head coach one day?
That's said, there ain't no Might....Dabo will be at Bama the second Saban calls it quits. Book it.

Dabo will. Contracts mean nothing.

You gonna pay Dabo's huge buyout and 10 million/year?

No joke....I can't imagine what it is like for O to have this opportunity. I don't know how successful he will be, but no one is going to outwork him. He doesn't want to give his dream up.

Saban won't retire until 2020, Dabo will be ready to come home by then.

I feel like that's no longer the case. He would have jumped at the chance, certainly, but Saban will coach a few more years. Dabo has a life in Clemson now. His kids grew up there, he and his wife built their dream home. He's been there 15 years, and probably 20 by then. I'm starting to doubt he'll ever leave, unless he collapses and gets fired.

I can't speak for Bama, but I would want Jimbo at AU long before Dabo. Jimbo is all business, and Dabo has stupid slogans you have to hear.
