My family went the private school route, so these numbers are mind boggling. I thought that smaller schools were always the better option, but all of these larger schools seem to be doing well no matter what I think. Impressive. I am still more of a quality over quantity person though...but numbers and results don't lie.

That's what everybody with little dicks say.

It's never been said on ESPN, fox sports or any other sports network either

I've never heard any of those channels say "flagship" at all, and why would they?

Clemson has 22,700, only beating out 3 SEC schools with Vandy as one of those.

Clem really is the David of college fball.

I googled "Clemson" and "small", I came up with several support groups for clemson fans with small penises.

Wow...it seems there are an abundant amount of clemson males that have that issue. Not very good for a supposed top ACC team. guess that's why they didnt get into the SEC

#1. aggie is no flagship, flagships don't let everyone in who applies, aggie is more like Arizona state

#2 aggie will lose their AaU status in the next 5 years. they only achieved this in 2001 because of UT's clout, but they aggied this up and are plummeting in rankings

so my theory is

1) school's are spending huge amounts of money
2) school's need huge amounts of students to pay for such spending
3) flagship school's are now stealing students from non-flagship instate school's

need to see enrollment figures for non-flagship school's. If above is true, than non-flagship school's will start closing soon. I would agree about Texas A&M, whoever i running that school should be fired. Texas A&M should limit enrollment. Alabama probably has more to do with marketing of their football team but they are entering dangerous debt levels with their spending.

Wrong. AAU is really really big on research and Tex AM, even with all of its faults, does a ton of research each year. Not to mention they have a very healthy endowment.

If AAU were to consider the research that takes place at UA-Huntsville(NASA Rocket Center) and UAB(medical) then I firmly believe that the UA would be apart of the AAU.

Yall do know A&M is one of the 2 flagship schools in Texas with UH & TTU both working their way to flagship status. A&M is growing to meet demand. The world needs more engineers.

Alabama is not stealing students from Auburn.

AND

Alabama is nearly 60% OOS, that OOS tuition is a lucrative business.

If we're talking public school academics, it's UF then Aggie at the top, with jawja following.

Aggie is no slouch, and has caught up to UT and surpassed it in some areas. Kinda like VT and UVA. You don't go to UVA to learn engineering. Nothing like FSU and UF though. Only thing they got us beat in is their literal clown school (look it up!).

This ain't tallest midget, either. UF consistently ties UT in rankings and keeps trending up.

Won't lie, I preferred Ole Miss at 12-15K students. I understand more and more people are going to college now so all schools are going to expand, but I loved the small college town feel to Oxford and there is construction going on everywhere there now. There has been more student housing built the past 4 years than the 25 before that combined. I'm sure alumni of most of the other SEC schools feel the same. Most of the SEC campuses are "college towns" but are growing so much because kids don't leave after they graduate and many people are moving back to their college town when they retire.

It is still the smallest college town in the entire league. You hate change, even if the change = improvement.
