If they are smart. He is a better coach than what they have.

If he's to thin skined to take criticism, he should probably move on.

I think he's just trying to get a bump in salary along with an extention.

Those schools without football will eventually become bad basketball schools also, the football money will be used to buy the best basketball coaches and thete is nothing Georgetown, Marquette or Villanova can do about it in the long run.

Well that and Kiffin is the reason that Mike Hamilton is no longer AD. Still, Hart I don't trust yet - no reason to.

I agree completely, and I'm already prepared for an awful hire.

Both our basketball teams make the Sweet 16 and instead of being happy it's like the Night of the Long Knives on VN and our AD is playing hardball with one of those coaches. Yeah we're not a basketball school.

I, for one, have my mattress at the ready in case Hart fricks this up.

Good. He deserves better than Tennessee and their shitty (not all) basketball fans who signed a fricking petition to get him out.

I did not sign the petition, attended 20 games (including multiple road games and the S16 game) but I don't think he is a very good coach. What do I deserve?

Our fan base literally has millions and millions of people both inside and outside our foot print. Granted it shouldn't have happened, ever, but if him and that 1.3+ million aren't thick skinned enough to put up with a vocal 3% of fans than I don't know what to tell you, and this is coming from someone who would like for him to stay.

By SEC standards UT is a football and basketball school. The criticism is going to be hot for both sports or both sports are going to produce demi god coaches that the fans love. It's cutt throat, but such is college athletics.

Ridiculous. We have some good fans but it's obviously a secondary sport.

I'd rather see him stay but I will be fine either way. Zo isn't the only basketball coach out there. Tennessee's fan support on basketball is on par with UK, UNC, Syracuse, Indiana, Louisville. UT even has world class arena and top notch facilities. Tradition is only thing that UT lacks.

wut

There are some AWFUL coaches who have made the Sweet 16. Ask Boston College how good Steve Donahue is. Ask USF about Stan Heath.

Those are just coaches who have been fired in the last two weeks.
