The only other comedian he likes is Eddie Murphy.
There were only two professional comedians that could make my paternal grandfather (RIP 1983) laugh out loud: Jerry Clower and Redd Foxx.

Jerry Clower is the man! Got to hear him at Camp Lejeune once. Dude was the best storyteller ever.

He lived a few miles from where I grew up. Clower is a legend in these parts.

He was funny but the fact is, it was his personality live from what I gather. He appears to be a great stage entertainer. Everything in person is so much better.

I had a couple of his cassettes when I was a kid. I used to laugh until I cried. I guess I don't find it quite as funny anymore, but I still like to listen for the nostalgia.

Yeah comedy has changed but at the time that was probably some great stuff. It's like Atari game system was probably the greatest invention ever back then until Nintendo came along. Now days everyone probably thinks those things are stale.

Clower was a fine man and a GREAT story teller. We don't get his kind often, and he was a gift. We could use more of his ilk these days, I think.

Easily the worst two minutes of standup I've ever watched. Never cracked a smile.

Brother Dave Gardner was awesome. But somewhat non-PC.

My favorite comedian ever. Mitch Hedberg, died just as he was becoming the biggest comedy star.

No but I guess you noticed the shaking. Only time he was filmed doing that, they say he was extremely nervous. He was a comic genius but hated performing to large crowds. Eventually overcame that. Anyway he discovered heroin. As usual the great entertainers seem to die young.

JC used to come speak at out high school occasionally. He'd always wear a bright red leisure suit with a raccoon on it
