There just isn't much reason for human beings to be there.

West, Texas, the town on 35 between Waco and Hilsboro, or west Texas, the giant unpopulated desert region?

TCU has the best (college) team name in the state.

I can't say best overall, because I know there would be argument from the Hutto Hippo fans, but nothing collegiate beats them.

Recent events in South Bend have made the ND game potentially a lot more interesting. We might see the bandwagon bust out for a while.

Great mascot, for sure, but they haven't won state since back when they were 3A. That town has boomed and now they have to play with the big boys.

TCU has the best coach in their history, probably same for Houston, and was recently the same for Baylor. Doesn't change the fact that nobody gives a shite about any of those schools in Texas.

Touche. Technically correct. But for me, as a native of the Houston swamp and current resident of Austin, Austin is semi-arid and west Texas is the GD desert! It's all a matter of perspective.

To be honest, this is pathetic for the sole SEC team in the state of Texas

You don't get to dictate what's pathetic when you are the sole power 5 team in Louisiana, have badass recruiting classes and can only manage 1 more win than Aggy since expansion.

Yes people. 37 wins vs 36 wins.

I think both statements are accurate.

It's pathetic that A&M has been unable to capitalize on the SEC move like it should have and it is pathetic that LSU, with the advantage of being the only Power 5 team in a talent rich state that also partially (for all intents and purposes) includes Houston, has only managed one more win that A&M in that time-frame. That's why Les was/is on the hot seat and why there were rumors of his firing before our game last year.

I swear i see more oklahoma fans than texas fans here. We actually had a really good turnout for the Tennessee alumni group during the orange and white game.

This is the truth.

No college football fan in any meaningful demographic in the state has seen an in-state program win a football national title in their lifetime other than The University of Texas.

Texas will likely fire Strong after he starts 1-4 this year. If the right hire is made, there is a foundation of solid players in Austin that a competent coach could make a national title run with in 2 to 3 years.

6-6 @ best.

zero depth in the O/D lines is going to eat them alive by 5th game.

That team has zero character, by product of the system & Briles. They'll quit on Grobe early.

Hey Bama, we cleaned out Baylor.. get to work on Ole Miss will ya?

It is only year 5 in the SEC. They are in the SEC West with arguably one of the best modern dynasty in college football with Bama under Nick Saban.

Rules that only impact SEC teams have also hindered their recruiting.

-Not being able to play "Spring games" at neutral sites caused A&M to lose some momentum.

-The "over recruiting" rule added during expansion has also cotributed to A&M never having a full roster, because they started out in the league with only 65 scholarship players.

-SEC only JUCO and transfer rules have also impacted several A&M classes.

This is year 5 after the recruiting rule changes. Going forward every team in now on equal footing. A&M has also been able to host a Spring game which is already paying benefits with the 2018 class.

I disagree. I feel like more than 10k people in Texas know at least enough about Baylor to not send a daughter there.

ETA: Ah, you said all three.

Tcu is atleast much more represented in dfw than ut-austin is. Thats certain. Texas should be able to do what you claim. But i dont know who theyre going to hire to do it.
