If u had to pick Jake Coker or Blake Sims to lead your team next year who would it be? I'm sure most people will pick Sims but I'm picking Coker. Sims had great games but threw picks that cost or almost cost us the game. Coker fought and played hard and never made costly turnovers. Coker has a national championship and has never lost as a starter, Sims can't say that. It's an easy choice for me. RTR!

By the time he came into the game Bama had turned it over 3 times already.

I'll take Sims. He threw a decent deep ball, quick ball release, really good at evading sacks, and was a good scrambler.

He came in after we were down like 20 and he brought us back to have a chance at 2 game winning drives

i'd take a 2nd year sims over a 3rd yr aj every time ... sims learned how to play qb and had the ability to make huge plays running it ...

I would take AJ over both of these without even thinking. That's why he's not included lol

Sims was exciting to watch as we havent had a mobile QB that athletic before...think he could have become a lot better at the position if he had more time and could have worked with Kiffin more...

Coker however was just rock solid and made clutch plays when it counted. He took sacks when Sims would have scrambled and extended the play but think Coker was a smarter QB and didn't make the costly turnovers

I mean, I'm not blaming the Ole Miss loss on him and agree that he won the team over and played tough down the stretch in that one.

But he made some very costly turnovers in that game. Go back and watch. That is simply a fact.

Sims played better against Ole Miss than Coker did tbh. I know everyone remembers the INT at the end of the game (OJ Howard, smh) but to say Blake "cost Alabama the game" and then turn around and say Coker "never made costly turnovers."

Well that is pretty bizarre, I'll leave it at that.

The Ole Miss game was just FUBAR all around......3 of the 5 already happened and we were in a hole.......Coker was solid the rest of the season

I'm not disputing that. I'm not blaming a loss on Coker. I like Coker.

I'm simply disputing some of the bizarre things OP said about Sims costing us games and Coker never making costly turnovers.

That's simply not true.

Yep. Bama was behind and had to force throws to try to get back in the game. That's gonna cause a turnover or two sometimes. He didn't cause us to lose bc of his turnovers tho. We were already down 20. That's what I'm saying. Blake threw 3 picks against auburn that almost cost us and then he threw three picks against OSU that contributed to the loss.
